  1. Does your wife do much cooking?
  2. I needed a way to use the 2 inch wide packing tape on a bench top. Nothing was available locally. So, I bought a tape gun that had a bolt on handle, removed the handle and clamped it to the bench with a pair of vice grips. Now I can tear off small strips of tape when I am working with patterns and stacked assemblies. This is (for me) much easier than using it as a tape gun.
  3. I expect to have many more years But you never know.
  4. My future son in law requested a family gift, Christmas ornament. Since all the "crafters" around here have discovered laser cutters, I wanted something different, so I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried compound cut ornaments. A big hit. Now I need to talk to my lawyer friend to see how to set this up. I want to hire someone to store a brunch (50) of ornaments and after I pass, mail them to my daughter every year, just before Christmas. here are some of the ornaments I've cut so far: the small one is birch ( local source for 1" x 1" square dowel, birch) the rest are from pine 2x2. the ornament patterns are Steve Good. The reindeer is a test pattern off the internet.
  5. Nice job. What type of shirts do you wear? I've found that the Dickies work shirts don't snag as much as T-shirts.

  9. Rule #1 don't touch the sissors. Rule #2 don't touch the guns. In that order.
  10. Yep, mom was a seamstress.
  11. Just don't use her fabric shears .... for ANYTHING.
  12. Very nice cutting, kudos.
  13. Welcome to the Village. Swing arm, magnifying light. Mounted to the table not the saw. plunge router attachment for the Dremel (to drill straight holes). Dry erase board on the wall behind the saw, to take notes or for reminders
  14. Delta 40-560 Type 2, two speed (rarely use low).
  15. I used up all my FD corian #3 blades and am looking for replacements. Today the first batch of test blades came in. One dozen each FD Polar skip #1, #3; Pegas Skip tooth #1, #3. I am cutting the interior of my heart boxes, 1 1/4 inch thick oak, some fairly sharp corners, same pattern for each blade, two boxes per blade type. FD-P #3 first up, fairly good cutting very smooth finish, drop out slides back and forth in the hole without binding, good tracking (didn't wander off the line) PST-3 good cutting, not as smooth finsh, one drop out would not slide all the way through, poor tracking. PST-1okay cutting, broke one blade an inch into the cut, finished the first and second box with the second blade, not as smooth a finish as FD, drop out slides back and forth , poor tracking. FD-P #1 great cutting, smooth finish, drop out slides back and forth, good tracking. I think this is the winner, especially for the sliding dovetails. I'll continue to contrast and compare these blade to one another as I make more boxes.
  16. The Hepa filter should come with a foam sleeve pre-filter. the foam sleeve will catch most of the big stuff and the Hepa catches the small stuff. Rinse them both with water after shaking, knocking off the majority of the debis. Allow the filter to dry overnight.
  17. Tried it, you are right, e-mailed Steve again, pattern fixed again. Got a reply from Steve thanking me. All good now.
  18. The pattern has been fixed and the new version is now available.
  19. Just e-mailed Steve, had to copy and past the address.
  20. Yes, I just printed out the pattern and have the same problem two of the pages have been mirrored. If you can use a computer program to flip the image. Please e-mail Steve with the issue, I'm not set up to do so, yet.
  21. Ya know, You can take the pattern inserts to a copy center (I use office max) scan both sides then cut up the copy and scan. This spring I bought a 11 x 17 scanner/printer, it is sooo nice.
  22. Welcome to the village. Very nice cutting.
  23. Nicely done, bravo.
  24. Welcome to the village.
  25. Better tools make it so much easier and faster though.
