It would be nice if the design folks at Dewalt could start making their saws so that the arm stays up like many of the other saws on the market today. I'm sure their sales would increase if they would incorporate this feature on the 788.
Eddie, your set up looks just fine and if it works for you that's all that matters. Agree with everyone else, free is always good to pickup and use again on other projects. I have taken old 2 inch legs off of old trashed tables and turned them into some beautiful pieces and handles on the lathe. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new hobby!

No experience with the Grizzly scroll saws but do have two Grizzly bandsaws that I have had for years. Both of the bandsaws have been very good for me with no problems at all. I once called Grizzly for another manual for one of the bandsaws a couple of years ago and it was sent out very quickly and the rep on the phone was very friendly and had good knowledge about the product.
