beautifull work by a beautiful person. My daughter suffers from depression, I often remind her that by doing things for others she helps lift herself out of depression. God will find ways to help us in way we don't often u;nderstand

well I didn't get the pictures of the ark or one of the finished elephants done like I had hoped so I guess you'll just have to settle for some more pics of things iv done in the past. one thing I like making is welcome signs...so I took a butterfly pattern and a welcome pattern and put them together to make this welcome sign. Iv made several of these. this one I did in 2 different colored plywood. the crab key chain is just something I made with some of the scrap wood. I love kids and love making things for them so this is just one of my animal word puzzle the moms taxi service dry erease board I made because it reminded me of when the kids were little, except instead of mom running the kids here and there it was there father who did it. and then theres the fish plaque. Iv had fish off and on over the years but as with my beloved turtle spock it just got to be to much for me to clean the aquirem. so I do fish patterns from time to time in rememberace of my little fish children. lol Yes im one of THOSE people who treat there animals like people. lol espically now that all my human children are grown and on there own. im thankful that spike lets me have a varity of pets. lol

lol ok ok i'll see if I can get spike to take pics while im trying to do it. lol and i'll put them up weather it works or not!! lol I was planning on putting up the pics of the ark of the covenet and one of the finished elephants today but I do several different kinds of crafts and my plastic canvas took me away from my wood working this afternoon. While I was trying to glue the elephants together ( befor spike took over for me ) spike was helping me with the plasti canvas by drawing ;the pattern onto the plastic canvas for me. for some reason I have a heak of a time getting that right! he only has to do that for me once with each new project as when I cut it out I always cut out an extra one to use as a template for the next time I want to make that project. I wish could find a way to stack cut plastic canvas on the scroll saw. lol then I could just stack cut several pieces out at a time. lol I do cut cloth with my scroll saw from time to time when im make several of the same projejct. Iv also used it to cut paper...or rather books, when someone wants me to make them a book safe hinding place thingy. you know were theres a hole cut into the middle pages of the book. then you have a little safe like thing to put on your bookshelf with your other books but your the only one who knows that one of the books isn't really a book. lol I tend to do my wood working durning the day and I have one of my other crafts to do in the evening and night while im watching tv. fa

Now that's a great idea ! and as soon as I read your post it gave me an idea!! when I get ready to put the next piece together i'll try holding it together with clamps... I can use 2 clamps ...one holding it together from the top and one from the side. the bottom should stay in place because its attatched to the side pieces with the tabs. I knew I was happy I found this sight !!! lol i'll try it tomarrow i'll let you know how it turns out Thanks !!!!

spike often asks me why I do the crafts I do if it gets me so upset!! lol when I tell him I like and enjoy my crafts he just sort of shakes his head and mutters who knows what !!! lol I am at the momet sitting in my chair taking a break. why you might ask? well im still working on those pesty little elephant cell phone charger thingys. I seldom toss out a project if all it takes is a little fanagaling to get it to work, so im sanding and cutting the tabs so they will fit in the slots. this is not hard for me as iv done it many times before. lol now I got all the tabs to fit into all the slots and there are no big holes that have to be filled in . each piece fits together nicely. So what's my problem you ask? My hands are just not big enough to hold all the pieces together. I can get all of one side together with no problem, but when I go to put the other side on the darn thing falls apart. grrrrr lol so spike is nicely dry fitting all the pieces for me. when he gets that done he'll put rubber bands around it so it won't fall apart and then we will glue it all together. you might ask why I don't just have him do it in the first place instead of frustrating myself with it. well spike is 11 years older than I am and there might be a time when he won't be able to help me like he does now. I'll be 62 on the 20th , spike will be 73 on his birthday this year. we have both decided its time for me to try to do things with out his help. when he's finished with this one i'll start working on another one and we'll see how far I get next time. lol this is proubly the easest thing I have to try to do with out his help. taking deep breaths and calming down lol I will not throw my projects across the room lol

seeing as how it is so close to st pattys day I thought id put up a st pattys day project. I think I could have done better on letters though.I had fun making the happy Halloween sign the worm ad book stand was my first compound cut pattern. my happy fish came out much better I think, I plan on using these fish and sea weed when I get my fake aquirem project started. and then theres jesus on the cross. I stack cut several of these and they sold pretty good, my oldest daughter liked hers a lot. lol now this morning iv been working on my elephant cell phone holders... this last one I put together came out a lot better then the first ones I did so I didn't cover it with cloth. lol It should be ready to paint soon. the friend I taught how to scroll came over to get the ark of the covent I made for her grandchild and she thought it came out great!!! lol shes always telling me im my own worst critic. lol I have 2 more of the elephants to put together....i'll do later this afternoon or tomarrow and then i'll put the other one in my box of crafts that need to be finished. you see there no heat in my workshop and the electric bill gets pretty high when im doing a lot of sawing in winter so what iv started doing is when I make multables of a project I finish one or two of them and then I put one or two of them in my winter crafts to be finished box. that way I will have projects I can do in the kitchen on cold winter days. lol I do still scroll in the winter but not quite as often as I do when the weather is nice lol

that is beautiful!!! and theres nothing quite like teaching and working with kids! my grandson has helped me make a few things lately, and hes bugging his parents to let him come to grandmas house again SOON so he can make some stuff. lol Hes espicaly excited about being able to use the electric sander next time. lol Hes only 7 so I don't let him use the scroll saw just yet but if he keeps doing as good as he has been it shouldn't be to long before I let him have a go at it, with grandmas help of course. lol your young friend did a fanstic job with her sawing. you both made a project to be proud of!!

Oh that is just great!!! being a big star trek fan I realllly appreachet this piece. lol Its beautiful !!!

ok my computer ate the first post I did here before I could send it so lets try this again !!!! the topic star trek...I am and have been for decades a huge star trek fan. Iv found a lot of patterns in different mediums that are star trek...such as crocheting the crews. and iv made several of them and will no doupt make more. Now what I want to do is make a shelf that looks like the orginal enterprise to put all my little people ect on. this is of course for my own personal use as are all the star trek things iv made. right now my little people are just in a box collecting dust! ha ha… now I know I can't ask anyone here to make a pattern for me but would it be alright if someone here gave me ideas on how to make the pattern myself? like what im thinking is if I can find a side view of the enterprise and blew it up cut it out and then just put some shelves on the different parts would that look alright? it doesn't have to be perfect since its just for my use but I would like it to look half way decent. lol and when I make the shelves should I keep the all just straight rectangle shelves or try to make the shelves the same shape of as the part of the ship im going to put it on? like making the saucer section kind of round to match up with side view of the saucer section im going to put it on? Now to the instructions of the pattern making class's Its going to take me a very long time to go through these classes....and hopefuly understand some of what im doing. lol iv read the first 2 lessons of how to make portrat type patterns and iv downloaded the program but im going to have to read those 2 lessons again and then copy the lessons...written long hand as I don't see any way to print t hem out on the printer so I can read it as I try to do the stuff in the lessons. lol well lthats it for now....just don't yell if asking for help to try to make the pattern myself is against the rules to. lol if it is just say hey sorry but we can't help you make your own patterns either. lol now I have to get started on the day.....at least for a little while before I hop on here again. lol

thanks guys and yes I have a lot of clear fishing line. Not that I do any fishing anymore. lol spikes a city boy...from Chicago he doesn't know anything about fishing and my siblings are all to busy these days. which is ok as I don't have a fishing pole anyway. Once I get the project started i'll send pictures. I'll see if spike will take me to hospice sometime this week and i'll look for some kind of clear bowl or something to use as a tank or better yet a fish bowl....start out small at first. lol if I can get it to come out nice maybe they would sell? I have a small fish tank that my turtle spock was in before I got him a bigger one. if I can get it down real good and looks real nice spike said I can use the smaller fish tank and make a nice aquia sean.. ok ok your going to have to guess at what those last two words are suppose to be!!!! lol when I was in school they tried teaching spelling without phonics. it was called sight spelling,,,,you can see how well that turned out! lol I happy to say they went back to phonics by the time my kids started school. my friend the one I taught to scroll was taught the same way and no she can't spell either. lol

As my little turtle spock got bigger and bigger and needed larger and larger fish tanks I had to give him up. hes in a good home with a teacher at the elematry school, she leaves him at the school during the school year and then takes him home in the summer. It just got to hard for me to clean his tank even with spikes help. anyway on to my idea!!! we have in the grage an old fish tank 5 or 10 gallons I think. or maybe i'll have to get some other kind of glass thing to make it out of if spike thinks that to big....huummm anyway my idea is this....I want to make some turtles a 3d carving of some kind I think and then some fish( for all my fish babies iv had over the years) and seaweed and such as well as a little man to go into it. and sort of make a little aquirem that won't have to be cleaned. im still thinking on this idea and tryig to figure out just how to go about doing it....the main thing that I cant quite figure out how to do is make it look like it has water in it. I have patterns of compound fish and a turtle as well as some seaweed. and I can get rocks not sure what else.... like I said its just in the idea stage right now.... if I still have the cover for the old tank I can take fishig line and use it to suspent the fish so they look like there swimming.....and if I not I can get some small mesh like something to make a top for the tank. like I said just an idea I think it will work if I can get all the bugs figured out.....hum what do you guys think?
-
oh I love those !!! where did you get that pattern!!! spike wont let me get anymore pets....not even fish.....but I could make something like that and put it on a shelf and have a nice little aquram he couldn't complain about. lol
-
that is my favorit wood FANTASTIC!!! and im going to write down that trick with the baking' soda!! if you don't mind I'll pass that little tip on to my friend who I taught to scroll before shes moves.

-
wow!!! now that is fantastic!!!! or like marvulis!! lol if you can figure out what that last word is suppose to be. lol you must have the paticnc of a saint as my spike is so found of saying. almost makes me want to try one....notice I said almost. lol hum maybe that pic of Charlie? i'll think on it get a few more projects under my belt since I havent done anything for so long …. I think I know where that pattern is.... and no you don't want to know how many patterns of just wood I have. lol let alone for all the other stuff.
