  1. Looks great. Excellent
  2. Yes, I did read that about the black marks. Not really sure what to make of it. I can see in your case that may be a problem as you will use it in your business. For me, maybe not so bad. I'll try and do a bit more research. Besides, I'm in no hurry. I have made all the years without one. Even if you don't have prime. Amazon has many many items with free shipping. You just have to wait longer. eBay sounds like the best bet for the Shop Fox downdraft table. I sold on eBay for quite a few years just as a hobby. Still do occasionally. Their fees are too high as far as I'm concerned. I sold Harley Davidson collectables until Harly Davidson put a stop to it. Dealers complained. Now you have to buy most items at Harley Davidson dealerships. I also sold licensed pro sports clothes and memorabbelia. I had my own web site for 12 years and did pretty well until Wallmart, Meijers and few others undercut me. I had to close it down. This was in the late 90s up until 2010. Sorry to hear about your problems with Amazon. I do understand. On the other hand, where do you get access to millions maybe billions of people for your products. eBay, Etsy are other options. It's really hard for the little guy to make it today in business.
  3. Thanks, thats even better. How long do you have to wait for delivery?
  4. I do the same thing. But since I have Prime on Amazon, I do make most of my purchasing there, especially if I'm in a hurry. I can have items delivered next day most all the time. I have found items cheaper on eBay , but I have to wait, sometime weeks.
  5. WOW! It's $119.99 on Amazon with free shipping.
  6. Where did you see it on sale?
  7. I was thinking of buying the small 15" X 25" Shop Fox downdraft table and hooking up my DeWALT DXV09P 9 gallon shop vac to it?
  8. I'm sure this has been asked before, probably many time. But I have not seen it. I'm curious. If money was no problem, what scroll saw would people buy? If I was in the market my choice would be the Hawk 220 Ultra. Don't need anything bigger.
  9. I do have extra barrel clamps loaded with my favorite blades. About 90% of the time I use a #5 PGT or a #3 blade. That feature I like. However, they are still a pain, especially with the real tiny blades. I'm a bit shaky and have arthritis. Don't mean to complain, it's just a fact. I still wouldn't trade that old guy. It's been real good to me. Not one single issue in all these years. However, I only use it as a hobbyist now. There was a time I did use it to make and sell some items. But I also had a full time job. it just became too much as i had no time for myself. I really didn't make a lot of money either. I just quit doing it and went back to having fun. I mostly make stuff for my family and some for myself. I have 2 married daughters, 3 granddaughters and 5 great grandkids with one more on the way. At my age, (80) I'm pretty sure i wont run out of things to do. Oh, I also have a 21" Excalibur that I would trade in a nano second. I just don't like it. Probably because I am so used to the RBI nothing else will probably satisfy me now. But I do like the fact I have a backup, just in case the old guy gives out. If I was 10 years younger I would probably buy a new Hawk. I'm curious. If money was no problem what scroll saw would people buy? Which "flat blade" do you use. If I can, I always use the #5 PGT blade. I don't have to worry about drift. I try to avoid very intricate patterens. But I am working on a small scrollsaw project that has very tiny cutouts and I'm not having much luck with. Using a 2/0 blade is torture for me. I'll plug away at it and eventually I'll get it done.
  10. I have the exact same issue with my 27 year old RBI. That bottom clamp is a real pain in the a.... There should be a retrofit for these old guys.
  11. Thanks Les, sounds like a good tip. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Been working on another project today. Had to get my mind off that awful experience with that other fiasco.
  12. Thanks everyone for the comments. If I buy one, I am going to use it for some very small cutouts in the center of a scroll saw project I'm working on. I'm really not very good at setting up my saw for those tiny cutouts. I just can't seem to thread the blade through that tiny #68 hole without bending the #02 blade while attaching it to the bottom clamp of my Excalibur. My hands are just a bit too shaky in my old age. My eyes are not all that great either. I rarely ever use such a tiny blade. Most all scroll work I have done I use a number 3 or 5 blade or even bigger. The 02 blade was recommended for parts of this project. Never again. Anyway I thought I would try and thread the blade through the tiny hole off the saw first, then attach the hand fret saw too it and attempt to cut out the piece by hand. I only have about 8 or 10 of those teeny, tiny cutouts to do. The rest I can do with a #3 and a #5 blade. The fretsaw is not going to bankrupt me. It is only about 20 bucks with free shipping. I think it may be worth a try as I am not doing very well now. I do want to make these as Christmas gifts for my great grandkids. Thanks again Ben
  13. Has anyone ever used this fretsaw? If you have, did you find it useful or a pain in the neck? I'm thinking of getting one.
  14. I use VIX bits to center holes in hinges. https://www.amazon.com/COMOWARE-Centering-Woodworking-Window-Replacement/dp/B08CGHQPBR/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=Vix+Bit&qid=1603699600&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyS0FSUkxGODJQWElOJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTE5Njc3Mk0yVlo4QkFLS1pFVyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTExOTI4MlVZRDY5RTdSTzlONiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  15. Very nice fretwork. I know someone who has that exact same model car, only in blue and white. I have ridden in it. They are built like a tank. It's a real classic.
  16. That is one cool calendar. Great job.
  17. I like it a lot. Just too cute.
  18. I wouldn't use 5 sheets of 3/8" BB in 2 or 3 lifetimes. Just have no use for that much. I do mostly Intarsia and have for quite a few years and mainly use American and tropical hardwoods. Every once in a while I do need some plywood for a special project. I think it's better for me to just get the closest sizes I need of BB and pay extra. I wont have much waste either if I buy just what I need. I have 3 special projects for my granddaughters that call for 3/8" plywood. Thanks for the tips & info. Sounds like it works for you. Ben
  19. Thanks for the info Brian
  20. A bit too far for me Kevin. A little over 100 miles one way. I did see it was about $27.00 for a 5x5 sheet for 3/8 or 9mm Going with a 5 x 5 sheet of BB is probably my best bet and cheapest by cutting it myself on my table saw. But that leaves me with leftover wood I may not use. I rarely use plywood in any of my woodworking. And I really have enough of that leftover stuff I have accumulated in my many many years of woodworking. I'm 80. I really don't need anymore "leftovers" as my wife will tell you. I'm a hoarder and don't like to throw anything away. haha. I just may pay the extra and have very little leftover. Not sure yet. But thank you for the info. I did find this Kevin. It's much closer for me and maybe you. Might be worth a look or trip. Very reasonable prices for BB https://www.toledoplywood.com/product-category/categories/hardwoods/baltic-birch/ Ben
  21. Yes, there are a few lumber yards in my area. I'll check it out thanks.
  22. Ok Thanks I did put 3 pieces in the cart ( didn't order yet) and it was free shipping. So you don't even need to drive there now! I do feel the same with my drivers license renewell coming up. I'll be 81 real quick.
  23. I'm impressed with that customer service. Sounds like a great company to do business with. You are so lucky to have them. Ben
  24. I don't normally work with plywood and was wondering if this is a good plywood to use and also is the price fair. It does come with free shipping. Or I can actually go pick it up as a Woodcraft store is only about 15,20 min from me. Baltic Birch Plywood 9mm-3/8" x 24" x 30" $13.99 ea I need 3 for a some projects I'll be working on. It's from Woodcraft
  25. I guess i'm missing something. What's so funny Frank?
