  1. I 2nd that.
  2. WOW, just beautiful. What is that wood?
  3. Excellent
  4. Have you tried Woodworkers Source? They are in Phoenix, AZ. I know they have BB plywood and will cut it to your dimensions. I have not bought any, but have bought lumber and was very satisfied with my purchase. https://www.woodworkerssource.com/baltic-birch-plywood.html
  5. Good catch Iggy. I just ordered some. Thanks, Ben
  6. Hi everyone I'm looking for some quality collets for my Dremel rotary tool. Especially for the little mini drills like a # 68 to 1/16". I did buy a 5 piece set by Temo on Amazom that I am not satisfied with. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ben
  7. I just bought some 1/2" alder online. It's a nice medium brown and does not have a heavy grain pattern like red oak. I had never used it before. It cuts like a dream on my RBI, and is lightweight but sturdy. I have not put a finish on it yet. I like it so far. I also am going to try beech for the first time. Here's a link. The 2 pieces i received look almost exactly like the picture. I was impressed. https://ocoochhardwoods.com/scroll-saw-lumber/alder/
  8. Yep, 25/30 years ago. Not that long ago considering how old the earth is. Not many people knew of Amazon or Jeff Bezos back then. Now look where he is at. The richest person on the planet because of a vision. The competition got a bit much for me at that time. I was 70 then and didn't want to fight for a tiny slice of the pie anymore. It's been almost 11 years and I'll soon be 81 and doing what I like in my basement workshop. It's just getting a little harder to navigate those darn stairs. But I'm still plugging along and I'll keep doing what I'm doing until I can't.
  9. I designed my own website using Microsoft FrontPage. I was the webmaster and did all the updates, maintenence myself. I used a local cedit card processing co here in MI until PayPal came along. I still have a PayPal business account today. I only paid hosting fees. I had the site for 12 years. And honestly it took about 6 years to get going. I had some unique products for a while and did pretty good. I sold mostly licensed sports apparel and bikinis. Yes, bikinis. I sold Corona bikinis and they went really well for a few years until the big boys caught on. Along came Walmart and others and they were selling the same items for what I was paying for them. They ran me out of business. I shut it down in 2010.
  10. Thanks everyone for the comments and tips. There are some I'm going to try, then I'll pick which one works best for me. Very much appreciated. Ben
  11. I'm sure this has been discussed many times on here, but here goes anyway. After you finish a fretwork and want to apply a black backer board how do you go about applying it? I have a small scroll saw project I'm working on . A "Butterfly clock" that I want to apply a small black background to it. I have some 1/8" plywood that I will spray paint one side black, then cut to size. What should I use to apply it? Thanks in advance Ben
  12. I like it a lot. Really nice work.
  13. Nice score. I love my 27 year old RBI and it still hums along perfectly. Those older scrollsaws were built to last.
  14. Dear Mr Pellow. As an American and a US military veteran I find your posting very insulting. Your posting and comment won't be forgotten. You are now on my list and I'm sure a few others on here. Ben
  15. As an veteran myself, I agree 100%
  16. Yes, there is a hole on the bottom with a removable plug.
  17. You're right Kevin. I kind of made it up in my head from plans I have seen through the years and stuff I had laying around forever. I made all the wood parts myself. I already had the clear acrylic side plates from left over projects. The wheels I have had for ages and have no idea where they came from. They are probably 20 to 25 years old. The musical bank is supposed to be whimsical and the color scheme is all mine. I made that up too from some old Delta acrylic paints. You can't see it, but on the back is stenciled in gold lettering. Engine #1. It was fun to make and so far my family likes it especially my great grandson who is 6. It's not meant to be played with. For one thing the wheels don't move.
  18. A Musical Bank I made this for my great grandson. It plays "I've been working on the railroad" when you drop a coin in the slot on top. It is a small bank slot musical movement.
  19. Really nice Kevin. Just wondering what wood and thickness do you use?
  20. As a veteran I like it a lot. Very nice. I have often thought about doing all 5 branches myself, just never seem to get around to doing them. Show us the others when you get a chance.
  21. Really cool.

  24. I'm thinking about all the hours you spent making that beautiful fretwork and wishing I had the patience to do it. Just beautiful.
  25. That is real cute. I really like it. I'm in the process of making some small clocks similar that for my great grand kids.
