  1. Also watching. I need to upgrade my dust collection system.
  2. When you just finished what you were working on, it is too late to start on another project and too early to stop for the day.
  3. Done by request for a favorite niece.
  4. I had surgery for my deviated septum a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with the results. I can now breathe freely through both sides of my nose! And no more chronic infections.
  5. I saw 2 bids early on, $65 and then $75. I do not know what the winning bid was, will try to find out.
  6. @edward, I did that exact same scene and donated it to our church for a silent auction. The auction is tonight, and I am curious to see how much it will bring in. I added some inexpensive LED lights inside the scene. 7. Love that @sydknee. Do you have a pattern you could share?
  8. Very cute turtle @FrankEV. No doubt everyone will love it. My brother in Palm Beach Gardens came through Milton with little damage, just branches down in the yard.
  9. In this morning's post, Steve Good has a compound cut pattern and shows him using Bessey style wood clamps.
  10. Very nice work @Old Joe! I have done a few of Fiona's patterns and appreciate the detailed work that goes into them. Plus, I like your use of stained glass as a backer.
  11. Looks like it got you a second time. I was thinking about trying to order some from Ocooch Hardwoods.
  12. What is BBQ? It sounds like an exotic version of BBP. Whatever, you did a great job and I am sure your friend will love it.
  13. I had cataract surgery for both eyes in June. My vision has changed. I am still trying to adjust for scrolling. It is close, but not quite the same. The magnification I get with reading glasses and the magnifier lens doesn't quite work anymore. I am going to try stronger reading glasses. Has anyone else had this happen?
  14. All right! Pattern makers - make a pattern for us.
  15. That belongs in every woodworkers shop!
  16. Same here. I do not know if the reason has to do with water table or unsuitability of the soil.
  17. Very nice @FrankEV. I do like the 2024 version better, the colors, the frame and the extra space around the subject. The gentleman should be very pleased with it.
  18. I go outside to spray. The overspray goes on the grass and weeds. It usually gets too cold to do this for a week or two each year.
  19. Wow Frank - great job! Congrats to your lady for the idea. And congrats to you for doing it. The colors are great. The cutting and assembly are great. Just one question; what did you use for the eye?
  20. So sad. She was indeed a treasure. I am just getting into intarsia and had communicated with her briefly.
  21. That is true dedication. Bless you.
  22. They are so pretty to look at. Many of the neighbors feed them - so the herd keeps growing. They eat all the landscaping so we can't grow much of anything.
  23. My first scroll saw was a used Porter-Cable. The vibration was bad but I learned that I enjoyed scrolling. With what I know now, I suppose I could tune it to get rid of most of the vibration. But the killer was the non-liftable arm. To move the blade to a new hole meant releasing both the top and bottom blade clamps, move the blade, clamp both ends. I soon tired of that and bought my Pegas.
  24. See my write-up in the Intarsia/Segmentation section.
  25. Suggest you read the article on wood allegies and toxicity found here Wood Allergies and Toxicity | The Wood Database (wood-database.com) A good finish might seal the wood, but why start off with a problem wood?
