Sometimes you can save a little by buying bulk ink and filling your own. But it is messy and may not work all the time. yes, ink is a cash cow to them.

Is it really wood? Does the edge have end grain? Man made composit. How thick is it. When you sand it, does it change color

By the Janka hardness scale, Leopardwood is a soft wood. The lower the number the softer the wood Lacewood/ Leopardwood 840 Yellow Pine 870 Eastern Cedar 900 White Oak 1330 Cherry 995 Maybe you have 'soft' blades.

John, people who like mountains, call it 'Gods Country.' I lived in North Carolina and think it is beautiful place to live. In a little fairness, my wife was not overwhelmed by it because she likes the plains, open fields, grasslands... It is tourist/vacation land.
