  3. Ah, now my neck doesn't hurt when I talk to you. I don't use lemon oil. I use either BLO then coat with lacquer Or I use straight lacquer. Either accentuates the grain quite well. This makes 'curly' maple just POP. There are lemon users here so I'm sure you'll get a better answer.

  11. Can't help ... but have to comment. I got a mental picture of a VW Bus and what I see is a faded green, grafetti plastered VW I rode in once. Many years ago I went on a fishing camping trip with four guy friends. One owned a VW bus and volunteered to drive. Had enough room for all and our gear. A four hour drive but before we were an hour on the road, we were pulled over, "Just for a spot check". We and the VW had a passing grade. About an hour later, three good looking women pulled along side and signaled for us to pullover. We did pull over. The VW gave them the impression we were hippies with something to 'smoke'. I guess you could say we all were disappointed. Anyway, all I have is a mental picture of your '73 VW Bus.
  12. Dan, do a reply to this topic and continue typing and after a few minutes look down on bottom left of your reply area. you will see Last auto save 11:13:04 PM If there is an auto save then you should be able to retrieve. Otherwise why save it? About every two minutes or so, there is another auto save..... If I click on the auto save I get message that says About Auto Save If you lose what you....I've said all that before
  13. Do a search on golden acrylic image transfer
  14. Your first time or not. you did an admirable job on your wood printing. I did 'Image Transfers' for a few years on my other wood hobbies. Here is some of what I learned. * Print a mirror image. Be prepared to print a second copy. Your image transfer can only be as good as your print. So be sure your print is of good quality. * The bare wood must be as smooth as possible. But not necessarily flat. rounded can work also. Porous woods are not a good choice unless filled and prepared. * Be patient and take your time * Here is what I did that worked quite well. Purchase a Matte Medium. I used GOLDEN by Golden Artist Colors www.Goldenpaints.com This is a 100% acrylic polymer emulsion. Cut from the paper the image you want to transfer, brush a thin layer of the polymer on the image to be transfered. The ink must be damp with the polymer. Being sure all the ink is covered. What is not covered will not transfer. Position the paper on the wood and using a roller, roll until you press out all the polymer you can. Let dry, even set over night. Remove the paper, the ink has transfered. Apply a finish over top If you do not like it, the ink is removable and can be re-applied. You can do a search on Matte Medium Image transfer.. maybe more info. The only image trsf picture I have available other than signs on my cabins

  25. If I could do this anonymously, I would, but you asked for it. LOL... just kidding. Here's my thoughts. The painting on the flowers looks good. But it makes the rest of it look unfinished. JMHO Larry
