  1. Oh, that is nice. Beautiful saying and the Red Oak looks good.
  2. I really like Gordie's pattern of "FAMILY" . Here is what I did with it. This is without a finish and I showed it to my neighbor. He liked it so much that he bought it unfinished. Here's the same one with three (3) coats of BLO. 18" x 8" x 3/8" thick Cherry with a 1/4" BB backer. I stack cut two. The second one is 18" Oak.
  3. Nice looking piece, you did a great job. How about a little detail. thickness, wide, long, blade used....... Makes it more interesting with the extra specifics.
  4. Roly, It's all nice. The train is ideal for a youngster. Trees are cute...
  5. Curtis, that is so cute. Thanks for showing.

  9. My Thanksgivings was great... Apple & Pumpkin Pie How was yours? Magazines... other than SSW&C I saw a post few months back about one on the other side of the pond. Scroll Saw Village, Steve Good, local Library, search online for free patterns. I find there are many more patterns than I could ever do ... or
  10. A little pyro touch. looks good.
  11. A little late Happy Thanksgiving to all.
  12. You David, are ready to go. Pick one and go for it. Make it a challenge and learn from it.
  13. Merry Thanksgiving! Good deal!
  14. Basswood: Basswood is an ideal wood for woodcarving. I saw Rob's post on his compound cut reindeer and read the article about it. Basswood is also great for 3D cutting, All this reminded me that I have a 'fallen' Basswood tree in the woods. I need to go check it out and see if it is worth sawing into lumber. I want to do some more compound and want to make it as easy as possible. What wood do you use for compound cutting?
  15. Also thanks for the web site. And... Basswood, Basswood.... Bassword is a great wood for compound cutting.
  16. Cute as a button. What wood did you use... ???
  17. I can just 'see' them Kevin. The best you've done. Baby's first Christmas is a winner.
  18. Cheap fix, good idea for future refrence.
  19. Nice shop! Even clean. You can move around. For my Deltas, I just move the blade up or down in the clamps.
  20. Those are beautiful.
  21. That looks great. Would not know that is your first.
  22. Very nice piece. Your patterns and work is quite ornate.
  23. "Cutting the grass alone is worth a lot of money!" is an understatement. that grass is fragile!
  24. Hey mark, you have a good looking friend next to you. I couldn't tell if it is you or your friend on a chain. Married huh! Liking wood makes you a natural scroller and any question is met with at least one reasonable answer. Have you cut anything yet? What do you have plans to cut? Any particular subject? There are patterns here and everywhere. My Wife Susan likes leaves and I have cut a 100 leaves, just the outline and they are pretty. Or you could try GrampJim's Leopard that has two months of cutting. And all the other patterns in between. Scrolling is an addiction! Can't be cured. Welcome to SSV!
  25. Nice cutting on Trackmans pattern.
