  1. How nice the little box and a fine job on 'Lynn's Place' which looks to invite you in. May your Christmas be merry and bright.
  2. Kevin, thank you for your pictures. Myself and everyone knows you are a fine scroller, so I focused on the background. I enjoyed the entertainment your pictures provide. The duct tape 'stand', the subtle backgrounds of SSV, and especially the education of the " use of the forward slash in the middle ages." Fine job there my friend.
  3. Lorie, That is a nice bell and may your Christmas be a joyful one.
  4. Hummmm, don't know what to say. Other than this is SOP for you and that's no pressure Messy shop pic with that Dewalt on the floor.
  5. Kevin...............I think the Delta and Dewalt could almost have interchangeable parts. Schematics look alike. I greased the rod. Glad you mentioned about lower arm bearings and sawdust because that grease is going to collect the dust... Gotta keep an eye on them
  6. Joe, I did a search and found people with saws that had similiar symptoms....aarrggg... some complicated, so much so that I said a silent prayer 'that' wasn't my problem. If "that" had been what was wrong with my saw, then I was going to buy a gallon of grease, Just joking on the grease.
  7. Hey Steve, I didn't find the problem... ...but seems I removed (fixed) it.
  8. YES IT DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best tip was one particular nut is left threaded... easy to remove when you know which way to turn the socket
  9. You can't over do maintenance. Reminds me of when I worked part time at a gas station owned a new Firebird. Once a month I changed the oil and greased everything, even the door hinges. Washed and waxed. When I sold it, it purred and all that was really needed was a new convertable top. I HATE that I sold it
  10. I hear ya Paul, I gritted my teeth taking it apart a second time. First time I hurried and must have missed something. Then I made the decision that I must also do maintenance on my older Delta 40-690. All finished now...whew Dick, go back and get a hypodermic needle and a new grease gun. The Hypo helps get in tight places and a new grease gun because once you attach the hypo needle, it's tough to remove.
  11. I got rid of my rattle. Greased everything that I thought moved and tightened every thing I could put a tool to. Runs quite.
  12. Deena, glad you joined us. You'll have to show some of your creations Next Year. Tell us what saw you have, what you like to cut.
  13. Very good Marg. I enjoy seeing what you do.
  14. Search Kansas City for "lumber companies Baltic Birch". or for "luan (sometimes spelled LAUAN) Many of them have cut offs and scraps they sell discounted.
  15. What time is it? Oh, it's almost 'Norm'. I like it. You do such a great job.
  16. Cutting 2" logs in to lumber...lol Actually I would think #12's are for cutting corian or plastic. Thick hard wood.
  17. Well, you are very welcome to join us. Join in, chat, fix breakfast, show pictures and tell us about Arkansas
  18. Mr. David Vickers, Welcome to Scroll Saw Village.
  19. Ha... what... you don't say. Can't be tolerated I say.
  20. You did a fantistic job. I admire your talent cutting this. As for the "no finish/finish"; The wood will darken with age especially unfinished. IMHO, lacquer would be the finish to keep it more the shade it is.....
  21. You did quite good. I like them.
  22. In the last few days, my Delta 40-694 developed a kinda loud clanging. I took it apart once and greased some bearings. Saw nothing obvious. It is Back together and still rattling. It is the lower arm but I cannot tell if it is front or back. The sound travels the cover plate. I'm guessing it is in the back. I am taking it apart again. Don't know what to look for. It cuts good, just noisy
  23. Don't repeat this but I like what you do with wood. Nice job.
  24. Welcome Pete, while you are waiting on your saw, fix us a full English breakfast. A coffee for meand everyone this side of the pond, cup teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for Bob, Earl Grey for Roly, Chai for Marg. I've missed lots of folks so fix have extra. After that, start reading the posts here. Plans in your head shows you are a true woodworker. Tell us what saw you are getting.
  25. yOUR WORK IS ALWAYS A TREAT TO VIEW. Thank you for sharing.
