  1. That's cool, I like how each name fits inside the circle. Great looking and I understand why people like them.
  2. Hey Daniel, welcome! You gotta get started and cut that first piece with the Dewalt. There are a lot of simple yet great patterns. Crosses, stars and leaves. I cut a lot of leaves from Oaks, maples, birch and my Wife keeps most of them. Lots to learn and it is a relaxing, rewarding and enjoyable hobby.

Nice shop identification tool. Good work.
  4. Gollly geee, you ain't even asked a question Really glad yer here. Really though, there are about six answers for every question. Yes do post pictures. I like to ask about what saw you have. Welcome and glad you joined .
  5. That's good news. I'll try poplar. I made one for the coffee pot out of ??? 1/2" solid wood. Made coffee and had a wobbly pot. Tried 3/4 solid birch, still the heat caused it to bow.
  6. I have two Deltas...40-690 and the newest 40-694.... Realize that the Delta 40-694 most likely is sold without a table or light. I built my own table and bought a light for $5 at a 'Mission'. They are a good saw.
  7. Hey Jim, Glad you joined us. Having a 'blast' huh. Watch out, it's addicting. What saw do you have and what have you cut with it? Great idea to do some motorcycle race cuttings.
  8. That is Nice! Well cut. Beautiful butterfly
  9. A big cheer from me. I enjoyed cutting the 'word' FAMILY. Not only is it a great saying but it also is outstanding when cut and finished. I cut two and sold them. I am currently cutting two more. I love scrolling and chatting about it.
  10. The impossible done and it is beautiful. That is 'nice'. LOVE it
  11. Welcome Kevin!!!! Glad you made it here. Nice looking chickens.... Good job What saw do you have?

    Hello

Tino, A big WELCOME from me too. I'm sure Travis would welcome a little support. On the HOME page is a link for the members to support this great Village, (SSV Support). Though not necessary for membership and all the free patterns, advise and help, it's only $10 a year and helps cover some of the cost running the Village. Well worth it! The only real requirement is for you to cook breakfast in the Village Cafe once a week for the gang. We like pictures
  13. Hey thanks Dick. Just learned a new word but I don't think you used it right. I agree with Dick, that stuff would be tooooooooo tough for scroll sawyers IMHO So back to a finish: Just search for "Dining Room Table finish" PS: Heat will ruin a wood trivet... bow, warp, etc.

Very nice. I like how you added a little color. Nice touch with the eagle and trees
  15. Ike, you gotta go to church more. That's a great sale
  16. Good!!! News!!!
  17. I'm guessing that depending on the absorbtion of the wood, put a couple to three coats of BLO on. Then: Use paste wax, a thin coat rubbed over the oil and then buffed out will add another layer of protection and leave a nice soft sheen.
  18. My Delta 40-694 started making a little noise. Found a couple loose screws. One screw on the switch housing would not tighten. I removed the four housing screws. Threads stripped on two (probably my fault from doing grease earlier) Where is best place for me to order these four screws from? Thank you. Ps: I think my noise is from yhe switch housing ...gotta toghten all screws to be sure.
  19. That's a wall hanger. Good job, very nice.
  20. I like this explaination. I didn't think every Delta and Dewalt were manufactured with that 'defect'.
  21. Those trees are beautiful. Merry Christmas to you!
  22. What a great idea!!! That looks good.
