Just a Tree

Been wanting to do this pattern for a long time.  Not sure where I got the pattern.  The black walnut is 1/4" and the BB is 1/8.  The BB was for support, but turned out good enough I didn't want to throw it away.  I kinda like the wood I have them sitting on and may use it as a backer, not sure if I should frame one or make it a circle around the tree.  Kinda like a 1/4" bigger than the tree circle.

Paul, both pieces look good, I think a dark backer would look good on the BB one. And that a lighter backer would work on the walnut one best, the contrast in the wood should look great.

Another idea would be a slice of log left with live edge and only slightly larger as a backer; especially a lighter wood for the walnut one.

I agree with Len on the backers and I would make both of them round.  I love the pattern and you did a great job cutting.  If you ever remember where you got the pattern from I would love to know.

I really like the suggestion made to mount them to a slice of live edge slab.  I think that would look awesome.

I see that "Fish" has cut this pattern and he attributes Elaine and Bill Snell, Black Cat Art Works as the designers.  I did not get it there as best I remember.  Maybe I should not have the pattern, I know I got it a couple years ago when I first started scrolling.   Seriously know not where.
