meflick Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Rusty wishing you the best and believe me, I know and feel your pain. I actually had to have c1-3 (yes, that's 1 through 3) done at the ripe old age of 18 just as I graduated high school. They found I had no disc in between and my head was basically sitting on my neck they said. They took part of one of my own back ribs (said I was young enough it might grow back, never verified if it did or not though). They told me then, once they fused some, they would have to do more later. I got many good years before I started having further significant pain and problems, kept putting it off as I had young children, I finally gave in and they fused c5-6 about 6 years ago. After the fact I was instantly better, no pain, and I was like why did I keep putting that off. I pray the same for you and that all goes well for you and you are up and on the mend again soon. dansnow Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 Prayers for fast healing and quick pain relief. I had my L5-S1 fused about 66 years ago, and will likely need the L5-L4 down before too much longer. What a relief after it was done! Sparkey 1 Quote
Sycamore67 Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 I have had lumbar fusion but still suffer chronic pain. I had a trial of a spinal cord stimulator that went well and reduced pain significantly. I hope to have surgery soon for a permanent implant. Sparkey 1 Quote
Sparkey Posted October 17, 2016 Author Report Posted October 17, 2016 The pain when away after the other two surgeries so I am looking forward to having this one. Thanks for all the prayers. Quote
