Mermaid Puzzle

This was a request from my wife as a gift for a friend. Pattern by Judy Petterson from the Spring 2005 issue of Scroll Saw Work Shop, now Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts. Also available. In her book Fantasy & Legend Scroll Saw Puzzles.

Cut from a nice piece of 7/8" Cherry. Soaked in 50/50 boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits to bring out the color and grain. Then when dry, a few coats of Deft semi gloss spray lacquer.

I cut two, one for stock for next years shows.

Forgot to mention, I used FD UR #3 blades.

Fantastic cutting   I cut that puzzle out a few years back.My wife told me I was not going to put it out for sale. It's still in my tubs.One day when she's not with me I will sell it.
