Pays to Ask

Heard a woman say she makes quilts.  So I showed her a picture of " Love To Quilt" by Sue Mey.  She said I want one only 14" across.  Also ordered a box for her son who is in the Marines to keep papers and stuff in.  The box is 10x12x3 made out of walnut with maple inlay.  I also made the hinges out of wood.  The Quilt one is made out of oak with snapple backer.  Not up to Jim Finn's standard but I think it turned out ok.  So it pays sometimes to show people pictures and ask.  PS forgot, the inlay pattern is from Steve Good.

Some mighty fine work right there.  I certainly can not find anything lacking in the inlay.  Nice quilt plaque also.  I have been assigned to make several of those for Christmas gifts for my wife's quilting friends.

Thanks for the kind words!! The hinges were very easy to do. Just a compound cut. Always fun to do things you haven't done before. Cut a rabbit to hold bottom on. Another first.
