Christmas Lists

So has anyone started their Christmas Lists yet? My sons and daughter in laws have been asking me for about a week now.

So far I have

6" Combination Square

Round Woodworking Files

Clamps (you can never have too many clamps)

Lumber Metal Detectors

6' Heavy Duty Extension Cords.

I don't think I'd want 6" extension cords. It'd take a lot of them to get anywhere.

Pretty sad.  I'm at the age and been at it long enough,,, I can not think of anything I need.  In fact I am busy trying to get rid. of "stuff".  Maybe some new underware... I would really love to have all my kids and grandkids together for a family dinner and day of visiting, but alas they are all spread to far, to busy and it just is not going to happen.  To compensate, maybe a bottle of good Scotch....

Jim, what are you planning to do with 6" extension cords, that seems to be very short to be of much use? I'ma lot like Paul, I already have more then I need, I'm in the process of giving some of what I have away. I've already informed my two daughters, that there's nothing that I want for Christmas. I'm in such a rut that I don't plan to do much for Christmas, other then to go to church. I don't plan to decorate or to put up a tree, I plan to just spend some time alone, if people will let me.

My wife asked what I want for Christmas this year. I told her I'd just like to spend some time with my Savior. She said she could arrange that. 

Last year instead of exchanging gifts with my wife we bought ourselves something, wrapped it, and put it under the tree. She was surprised at what I got myself and I was surprised at what she got. Worked pretty good. Maybe this year I'll shoot for a new truck.

A trim router might be on my list for this year. I don't have any routers in my home shop and might like one.

Last year I went to menards and took pictures of some things for my mother in law and sister in law. They said it was like a treasure hunt, go to aisle 6 look for the scroll saw rack, olson reverse tooth #3. 

I get blades and wood most years. I tease them they if they give me wood for a holiday, they will get it back the next one.

Hi Len and MTCowpoke22, the 6 ft extension cord is for my pancake air compressor to reach the outlet that I plug it into. Right now I'm using a 20 ft extension cord and I'm always worried I'm going to get my feet tangled up in it and fall.

Most of my underwear is OK.  The only thing scroll related on the list is an hour meter for the saw motor, because people very often ask, "How long did that take you"?

6' extension cord? I've got lots of them, 3', 4', 6'. I get them all the time. My wife does the yard work and uses the hedge trimmer. I hope that explains it.

Dan, you have asked for the perfect gift. I have nothing to ask for. Faye and I have been so blessed to have our two daughters and their families living near. We are always together for holidays. Aside from that we have everything we have need of plus so many of the things we could get along without. Perhaps a bit early but Merry Christmas to all in the Village.

Saw this on Steve Good's site about a year ago.  I either doesn't come with any wires, or has short pigtail wires.  Not sure.  I use a foot switch that I wired to an outlet that the saw is plugged into.  Will run a wire from the hour meter to the same outlet as the saw.

Hmmmmm, tough question as I have most everything I want/need.  Gift cards are always good as I can buy what catches my fancy. 

Now for the BF................lets see this year he is getting a Field camera, a corded impact wrench and a small sand blaster (I have some old metal chairs that need painting) and probably a gift card or two and little odds and ends as I find them and of course a Christmas stocking full of his favorite candy..................................

I don't have very much room for any new machines. I just got the new supermax 16/32 drum sander and that is about the last piece of equipment I need. For Christmas maybe some exotic wood doesn't matter what kind.

I actually am in need of Nothing for a Christmas list except I agree with the old Scrappile too.  Family is scattered too far to do any holidays with all of us.  The son we live with and the son in NW Washington will be with us at ?? one of the 2 places and those grandkids-1 will be there too. The rest are too far away, southern CA -- NW MN, and eastern PA!

I would like to have a dedicated shop with enough room for what I have now and a couple of other bench top tools.  I need a spindle sander on rare projects.  Keep looking in the pawn shops for one really cheap.

Hey, People, I just thought of what I would like for Christmas, besides a good bottle of Scotch,,, I need a pencil sharpener!   My old old electric one is giving out.  I use up half a pencil to get a good point...So who is sending it??  Oh ya, Mrs. Santa.  Just spoke to her this afternoon about it..... darn she is a sexy old lady.....
