WayneG Posted April 29, 2018 Report Posted April 29, 2018 Many of you know I was making a bunch of bracelets. So I had all the leftovers from the billet that I made for the bracelets. So I figured I would make these funky rings Lucky2, MTCowpoke22, meflick and 5 others 8 Quote

meflick Posted April 29, 2018 Report Posted April 29, 2018 Nice and interesting. I still have bracelets on my "to try" list - life has been in my way for a bit now though - but I will get there I hope! Thanks for sharing. Quote

I know how life gets in the way, that is one of the reasons I have not been around here much lately. when you try the bracelets let me know I whip them out like mad now that I have the process down pat and can likely save you some time. I still feel the need to glue a couple up almost daily.... Edited April 29, 2018 by WayneG meflick 1 Quote

I think that will be neat! Quote

GPscroller Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 Clever use of left over wood, they all came out great. Jeff Quote
WayneG Posted May 2, 2018 Author Report Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Here are some pics of one that I made tonight. Take the blank, draw a circle around the hole drilled with a forester bit. draw a line across the top of the ring hole, draw another above at the desired thickness. cut it out on the scroll saw, sand and trim to perfection, apply whatever finish you want to use.Voila a funky, cool looking ring. This particular one is made of Merbau with a very thin strip Acacia on the edges. check the last pic, it should be the second one as that is the blank which is on end so you can see the cross-section of the blank. WayneG Posted May 5, 2018 Author Report Posted May 5, 2018 Made this one in a normal shape, it’s cool the acacia changes colors when it moves on different light, meranti is the other species Quote
