John B
Many thanks everyone for the kind remarks. I enjoyed making this box a lot. Mind you it was not without a few choice words every now and again. This was the second inlay piece for the top, the 1st I just wasn't happy with. I cut the centre of an (e) out the wrong direction, as a consequence it was to small. I cut and sanded a piece to fit but stuffed up the grain direction. This top went well with no hiccups. Once again thanks heaps

Scrappile
Looked again John and I really like the way you do the corner joints with the dark strip up them. Do you glue a dark piece to each piece before you cut the 45 deg. joint? However you do it it really looks nice. John B

Sit the box in it with the blade set to cat 6mm into the cnr and make a cut in each cnr. I then glued a feather of Jarrah into the saw cut and planed and sanded it flush with the box..
