My wife & I are downsizing, so there is less of a burden on our children when we kick the bucket. Only one son lives nearby. Gave all the woodworking tools to a son in Illinois. I only check this site a couple of times a week. Am losing interest in it. A few months ago, Bob was appointed Chairman off the Entertainment Committee. That turned out to be a wise decision, as he is doing a wonderful job. meflick 1 Quote

savethebeer Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Jerry, This is not the way I envisaged today turning out. You know the rules about giving suitable notice so that the committee can arrange a suitable retirement gift and prepare a heartfelt speech and present a gluten free, lactose free, reduced fat spread. Is this perhaps a way of avoiding having to post a newer profile photo that would prove once and for all that you've even less hair than before? Whilst I'm fairly sure that I can handle the promotion, I will need months and months of a lead in time before I'm ready to step up, so the best I can manage to take over is mid 2022. So maybe in a few months time you could get your people to talk to my people and we'll look at the situation then and if everything is lined up properly that could be the opportune time to hand in your 6 month notice. Until then the committee have agreed to allow you to reduce your posts to about 5 a month going forward without any significant reduction in renumeration or holiday entitelments. I'm sure that I don't have to stress at all that this is the best offer that the committee can make at these strange and difficult times and any decrease in your posts that causes an increase in Bob's workload will not be well received. regards Bob Quote
