I was reading my paper at 7:30 am when my son called and asked if I had seen the news. I had no idea what was happening.

I came home from work and my husband had the news on the TV.

I was watching telly and there was a news flash re a plane hit one of the towers. I turned to a news channel and watched the whole thing unfold.

Had just gotten up to get ready for work. Heard first report on the radio,  Immediately turned on TV, aghast at what I was seeing.

I was hosting a statewide medical treatment two-day class for first responders.
We cancelled the class, everyone went back to their organization.
And the world changed.

I was hosting a technology class at my workplace.  My wife called and told me.  Our instructor had flown in from out-of-state and had to arrange for alternate travel to return home.

I was on my way into work.  The owner of the company was in the area on a business trip.  He did make it home in a very round-about way.

I was in-processing at my last duty station, Elmendorf AFB, AK. I rushed back to the base because I knew security at the gate would be long...and it was. I deployed 2 weeks later.

Shocked.

I went home and watched the news

I was driving a propane bulk truck making deliveries. I thought it was strange that the sky, normally with a few airplanes was suddenly quiet. About an hour after it happened, one of the customers came out and asked if knew what was happening. He invited me in to see the news. Everything changed that day.

I was driving to work and heard about the first plane as I left home, second plane hit as I turned into work. Immediately called my National Guard unit to see if they needed me right away, never did get activated.
