Thank you all for the very kind and encouraging words.

For @TAIrving and @JessL it has taken me more than 10 years to attempt the Intarsia route.  I hate sanding and this take a lot of sanding.  However, the sanding reveals a new look in the piece.  Not just to "smooth" it out for a finish.

Ok good, I got time. LOL

It is the sanding that is stopping me so far.  It seems that you need some artistic ability to sand the pieces into the best shape to make it look nice.  I'll get there, eventually.

Very cool! I too like the gray. Isn’t it fun when you’re sanding/forming a piece how it changes the look of the wood?
I’m currently working on the beagle in the basket, and I had to re-make the basket because the grain in the cedar was “all over the place” when I started contouring it. To me, the contouring of the wood is a fun challenge.
Again, I think that is a cool and awesome piece!! I’ll have to put it on my to do list.

It is interesting, I didn't want to do intarsia because I hate sanding.  The sanding in intarsia seems to be a different beast!  It is fascinating to see what is under that top layer.  It is bringing out something different instead of "just sanding".
