WOW Charlie, that is very nice.  Looking for the pattern but haven't found it yet.  Will keep on looking.

Thanks for sharing.

Jerry

I know it’s a free pattern so I’ll send it to you in a message.

Thank you Charlie for the quote, that touched me.

Beautiful work on the Bird on a Faucet.

About 20 years ago I was in Guatemala for a week working at an orphanage. We went into town, Antigua, one day to buy some souvenirs and eat. I bought a small handmade change purse to give to a girl named Gladys who was sort of transitioning from living at the orphanage since she was 7, to working as a social worker on staff of the orphanage. On the last night we were there she handed me a big sack full of nice things she had bought for me and every member of my family.  I can't put into words how humbling it was to reach in my pocket and pull out the dinky little change purse to hand to her. When I told one of the missionaries there the story he smiled and said, "Kind of like having your feet washed by Jesus, huh?" I'll never forget it.

I am sure the lady will appreciate your kindness and enjoy looking at your gift to her every single day, just as you will enjoy looking at her gift to you.  💕

Marg

Thanks, Marg. It's hard to be encouraged by the world as a whole these days, but we can make our little circle a kinder place. :)

Excellent work, Charlie E.! Thanks for sharing.

I tried the link you found for Botas patterns and got a warning from my anti-virus program
that would not open the site saying it was infected and black-listed.  Just passing that along
and not sure if there are any problems with the site.

God Bless! Spirithorse

Thanks, and sorry about that. I've opened it several times with no problems or warnings. Who knows? 🤨

I commented on this antique cast iron duck/boot scraper that was at a sweet elderly lady's home on my meals on wheels' route several months ago. This week she told me that since she wasn't able to come outside and enjoy it anymore she'd love for me to have it. I told her no at first but could tell she really wanted me to have it, and I really loved it so I gave in. :) I wanted to cut something for her so I chose this awesome pattern of Botas Helder, because it's sort of like bringing some of the outdoors inside. A missionary friend of mine put it well when he said, "Having a poor or elderly person do something for you is like having your feet washed by Jesus." Quite humbling.

Really nice job!   What type of wood did you use, it compliments the picture so well.

I found the same pattern, but I think Botas isn`t doing patterns anymore. I wish I could cut it, that it would make a perfect gift for a friend in a nursing home.

Thank you so much. I cut this in 1/2 red oak. I agree, that would make a perfect gift for a nursing home resident. If you're having trouble he pattern let me know. I'm sure Botas wouldn't mind me sharing it for that purpose. It was free when I got it.

I have found the pattern, but it seems that Botas`s site is not operating anymore. If it OK with him, I would appreciate the pattern If it creates a problem don`t send it. Thank you so very muck for the offer.

I found the pattern and his site here . The pattern is called "bird on tap" and there are at least two different patterns with the same primary name.
