Hello,

I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago but have not yet posted a short introduction:

I am Joe, an entire newbie to scrollsawing. A couple of years ago I picked up a copy of a scroll saw magazine, subscribed, and after reading and becoming interested in trying it out as a new hobby, I purchased my first saw (ST-21).

I’ve found that I really enjoy cutting patterns, beginner signs and such for now, as I find time. In the real world I have family, work, and all the time constraints that brings with it!

I believe I’ve found a hobby that I will enjoy for a long time. And I look forward to learning and getting better at scroll sawing and possibly also trying out some intarsia.

Welcome from Southern Europe, Joe.

I am a beginner too, although I started scrolling a yer ago. But when you see some of the creations that folks here can achieve, I am afraid that I will remain a beginner for a long, long time. But I am enjoying every bit of it.

Feel free to ask. There is always someone willing to help.

Hi Joe, and welcome to the Village from Colorado.  I got interested in scrolling from my Father-in-law and his work using the band saw and my brother-in-law who was a scroller.  Like you I purchased scroll saw magazines from the book store, and like you I was working full time.  Doing little things, prmarily people names, and attending and attending craft fairs. not as a vendor, but as a customer.  After I retired I did a little more scrolling, then found this site.  Boy, the folks here really opened my eyes.  As I said, welcome to the Village.

Bluedmoon,

Welcome to the great village. We encourage questions, pictures, and bragging posts.   We also like new scrollers so we can learn from them (you).

Lots of folks here to help you with any struggles.

Me.

Welcome from Pennsylvania!  Be sure to ask any questions you may have, even if they seem like simple ones. We all asked them at some point and many of us still do. We learn from each other, whether we are beginners or long-timers.

Welcome to the Village Joe.  Scrolling is very addictive and around Christmas time family tend to come second.    Too many Christmas goodies to make.

Welcome from Georgia. I started scrolling several years ago when my neighbor gave me an old Dremel 13. I am now using a Pegas 21 and feel like I am learning something new every time I turn it on. It's a  great hobby for retirement.

Many thanks for all of the warm welcomes. I’ve been reading the forum for a few months, so I am well aware of how much information is available here! It is a great place.

I don’t do a whole lot of interneting, so I’m sorry for this reply to all of your greetings being so late! :-)
