  2. Nice job on the basket Marshall. Looks like you got a nice extensin on the bowl, too! Congrats on a well deserved ribbon!
  3. That turned out great! I like the way you painted it and with the outside edges black the younger kids should have an easier time with it. Good save on the other one. Nice job all around.
  4. Very cute, Ron! I like yours much better than the ones you see in the stores. You did an excellent job on the fitting of the slats, too! Thanks for showing us.

  11. Way to go Marshall! You really did a nice job on the napkin holder. I can see why it got a blue ribbon! Congratulations!
  12. Nice work on both of those! I like the stained one. Jay, another way to go would be to order directly from Sue Mey. She's in South Africa. You may be able to get the pattern by email. Here's her website: http://www.scrollsawartist.com/
  13. Love the frame, Ron! You did a wonderful job on it.
  14. Awesome cut, Gypsum! I have a couple of his patterns but have not had enought nerve to try one of them yet! You did an excellent job on the owl.
  15. Great job! I've been thinking about making it too. I think it would look really nice with some compound cut fruit in it. Thanks for showing us.
  16. WOW! I don't know how I missed this one Mike! Its fantastic! A real work of art!
  17. What a great picture, greasemonkey! They all look so proud of their banks! Kudo's to Home Depot for making these workshop day's available to the kids. I think its great that you and your brother take the time to do this with your children. Give them all a big thumbs up from me!
  18. Hi Cynthia, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought of my sewing machine when I first started! I had trouble cutting a straight line with the flat blades until Mike (Flying Dutchman Blades) told me about the burr on the backside of the blades that make them cut just slightly off. So now when I sit at my saw instead of looking at it straight on, like my sewing machine, I look at just the slightest angle. I hope that made some sense. Maybe Mike will pop back in and explain it better. Anyway, have fun with the spiral blades, too. I use both depending on what I'm trying to make. Have fun!
  19. Travis, I am starting to cut a bobcat so I'll take a few pics along the way. I dont work fast so it may take a while!!
  20. LOLOLOL! I thought I posted it here but it wasn't in my album! Oldtimers Disease!!!
  21. A weekly chat session sounds like a great idea, Travis. Its always been hard to pick a day and time so that everyone can join in if they feel like it. Whatever works for the majority is OK with me. I'll pop in to chat if I can make it and I'll try real hard not to sound like a chicken, AMAZINGKevin! LOL
  22. Hi everyone! Its been a busy summer so I haven't been able to visit the village as much as I would like to. Now that winter is on the way there should be more time for pattern making and shop time. The tiger is the latest project I've done. It is made of poplar and stained. There are over 100 pieces in it. The pattern is from a book by Neal Moore. The frame is the second one I've made and it turned out OK....no gaps! Thanks for looking.
  23. Congratulations Dale! Thanks for all the work you've been doing to make the Village a great place for all of us.
  24. Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been on the forum for a while but I've been real busy! This segmented relief tiger is one of the things that has taken up a lot of my time. It has over 100 pieces. Keeping track of them all and getting them in the correct place was like putting a 3D puzzle together! The tiger and frame are made of poplar and measures 16w x 18h. The pattern is from a book by Neal Moore.
  25. That's terrific news greasemonkey! This is a great opportunity to show your beautiful work. Congratulations!
