You know that a sure sign of mental illness is a totally clean shop. It seems that the cleaner it is the more disturbed the person is Actually this is true because instead of scrolling they are cleaning.<shiver> Sometimes a slight case of mental illness is a good thing though. One would hate to trip an hurt oneself so badly that they could not scroll so cleaning the shop in this case is a good thing. DW

It looks like pine that has been rescued from being submerged for a while. You can get some really interesting colorations in the grain. DW

Very very nicely done on both of those. I really love that wood. That grain is wonderful. Was it hard to cut or fairly easy? Did it have a unique smell when you cut it? I ask as I am trying to identify the wood. DW

I also would back up Travis's choices of blades. I use a #2 and #3 spiral to cut really thick wood for some of my boxes. Using spirals is an artform and it does take practice to use them successfully. Keep practicing you will get it. DW

Paul here is an idea. Find a frame the size you want. Go to your local hardware store and get about a meter, meter and a half of 10mm sisal rope and use that as a border for your cutting. Great job on that btw. DW
