  1. Well done Dick.
  2. I do both, and sell both. I do sell more of my scrolling but it is not all fretwork, mostly intarsia.
  3. awesome cutting.
  4. I started on an old dremel 20 + years ago, then top feeding was not an option. Since then I have had several saws and now have an EX-21 and still bottom feed. I have tried top feeding but always go back to bottom feeding.
  5. I use hot glue on the edges. I clamp all the pieces together then put several spots of hot glue on each edge. When done cutting I just cut off the hot glue and they come apart pretty easy.
  6. apply directly to the wood.
  7. FD all the way
  8. I am a bottom feeder too
  9. I had a Dewalt for about 2 1/2 years before the bearings failed. I replaced them and not even a couple months later I started having other issues with the saw. After dealing with it for a while I had enough. I bought an EX21 and have had no issues I've had the excalibur for 2 years now and going strong. I don't cut 6 hours a day, but I do cut a lot of hardwoods for my intarsia. The EX21 is holding up much better than the dewalt did. I would not hesitate to buy another one.
  10. I order a gross(12 dozen) of blades or more at one time. So I will not buy buy from the big box stores always online.
  11. Mine is scratched too. It doesn't affect my cutting so I don't worry about it.
  12. Thanks, I do a little of several different types of woodworking, my favorite is intarsia.
  13. you cut the black, most patterns you cut the black unless stated on the pattern
  14. here is a link to another thread about blade storage http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/19633-storage-for-blades/. Thereare several replies and pictures, this should give you a few ideas.
  15. great idea
  16. I don't use tape or any lubricants. When the blade seems to cut harder or burn I change the blade.
  17. Yes you can sell the finished items unless it states on the pattern for personal use only. You just can't sell the patterns, those belong to the designers.
  18. I use this method too. Sometimes I will stretch electrical tape around the outside for a little extra pressure
  19. Thank you. best of show went to a music stand. We are not sure how they judged for best of show, but there were several things entered that took considerable more time and skill to make than the music stand. It did look nice and I'm not saying I should of got best of show, but there was a couple of pieces there that I was amazed with and surprised they didn't take the prize.
  20. I use CA glue mostly as a finish for my pens and bottle stoppers. I do use it for smaller woodworking pieces but when I do, I use it along with the tight bond 3. The CA glue dries fast and hold the piece in place while the wood glue dries.
  21. great cutting and pattern.
  22. great looking piece. Well done.
  23. Thank you all for the comments. It is hanging in my "gallery" in my home. This is one of my favorite intarsia pieces I have done.
  24. Thank you Jim. there is a fretwork pattern of this at the wooden teddy bear. Bronx cut and posted it. here is a link to his post - http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/20336-powamerican-eagle-in-fretwork-pattern-form/
