Could be Poplar. Yes it got past quality control 1" in the rough is about 1-1/8" thick. S4S or S2S dressed lumber or dimensional lumber is 3/4"

If you check out the Business forum here you may find useful info if starting a business. I think Kevin and I have given some useful thoughts and he more-so he because he does the online thing. Here is a topic I started some time ago about shipping. Will tell you this, if you are going to do it do not go at it half-hearted. Kevin that was my point if you are having people demonstrate a product you are selling they better know the said product. I saw that and if i was at the show I would have mentioned it right there. When I bought my RBI the guy demonstrated made it look so easy it sold me there.

That is why I do not make toys or anything for kids. Today is a sue happy society. I will raise that age number when listing mine but they are not for kids anyway. Good idea to include something because the pieces are small.

And I can not understand why the price always has been high on this tool. Maybe they are not mass produced to help bring the cost down or what. There really is no proprietary parts used in them. As shown they have been copied and home made.

Do you have a photo of the choking hazard thing. I may include that in my puzzles too.

Some of them were accomplished scrollers. If you have to get off your chair and bend down to look under a saw to insert a blade, I do not care who you are that is not a sw I want to scroll on. I use the Dewalt and it too is not as convenient as the RBI and I consider myself an accomplished scroller. I was just making a point because if they were the ones pushing the sales of those saws that would not be my choice of. Bob Duncan is a well known scroller and has tested many saws for the magazine when he was there. Rick Hutcheson another well known scroller fumbled with that saw. They did not look comfortable using it. If I offended any one I do not care Just found it weird because that was the big saw being promoted at that show along with that scrollbandsaw.

I watched in Facebook various videos of top brand name scrollers using the Pegas scrollsaw and from what I saw you can keep that saw Everyone of them and I mean everyone of them had a hard time inserting the blade in the lower clamp. They would have to actually look under the saw to see what they were doing and still had problems. Give me my RBI saw any time I know many times it takes many hours to get a feel for the saw and process but these are scrollers that have used the Dewalt saw before and others with that parallel link system. Not impressed with the Pegas saw at all.

I suggest you get to know some different blade types and styles and you learn to match up the blade with your work and things will get better yet. The better blades on the market come from Flying Dutchman and Pegas. Good luck. -
Welcome to the sight and to the world of scrolling. It os a relaxing hobby that anyone can enjoy. The more you cut the more you learn the tricks of the trade as they say. Good luck as you progress. What saw are you using and what blades??

That came out great. I too have this pattern and at one time was gunho to give it a try but never did. Seeing yours may give me the inspiration I need. Thanks for showing and I know it will be well received.

Man that blade was smoking. Carter makes a bearing system you can add to your bandsaw that allows 1/8" blades and turns on a dime too. This tool is for a tool junkie because as someone said it is a small bandsaw and that is all. I saw this on facebook being advertised along with Pegas new scrollsaw so had to bring it up here. Not cheap either.

Tell me this is not an expensive tool?/ I have looked at these things and just can not figure out why they are so expensive. I remember I was at a woodworking show when they first came out and being I owned a drum sander I tried to figure out why one would want this. But have to say the salesperson had all the lines. Not sure if he sold any but did draw a crowd. I have ordered and received some reclosable bags and this is the way I am going to go instead of one time sealing. I chose this method because of a few reasons. One being my puzzles are smaller than what iggy does and are not standable. His are basically put it together once and display it or maybe the kids play with it. Mine are definitely build the puzzle and then take it apart and store it. So the person can store the pieces in the bag and place in the box. The vac thing means they cut it off and throw it away and am afraid the pieces getting lost. The puzzles should stay together in the reclosable bag because it is not too large. Hopefully this will work. When I start making them I will post a photo or two.

Now a drum sander is a different tool and a much more useful tool and less money. I would never be without my drum sander.

Can I ask you what you use it for?? Just seems like an odd way to sand a board down. Need to keep same pressure on the board all the way through.

The same thing with AC Moore and Michaels. I pick things up for my pen hobby at times. But the one thing I always buy from one of those stores is the box of exacto knife blades. can not beat the 20% off.

Without getting into the electronics of this but if the package or bulb does not say it is dimmable than it is not. Do not do it. It has to do with the drivers feeding the leds and the pulses it allows. Like I said i will not go into this because most will not understand. Also those leds that say are dimmable are to a point. They will dim a bulb to about 90% and then you see the wave lengths and add the ac current which pulsates and if the voltage is low then it is even more prominent. The light output is not that great when dimmed. You are better off either getting different color tones or adding filters to change light output.
