  1. Thoughts and prayers to Steve. We're pulling for you.
  2. I watched a few videos on about this tool. It looks a little sloppy. I think it may be good for some projects not requiring precision. I like that it holds the tool so you can hold the material you're cutting, sanding, or whatever with both hands.
  3. I'm a top feeder. I learned to connect the blade to the bottom holder by touch. Been doing it for years with no trouble. If you practice it will come to you.
  4. I show it as $9.99 for paperback and $7.99 for ebook on Amazon.
  5. I love. It says, "Fun." When I first saw it my old eyes wondered how you got those pennies in there. Lol
  6. You do very nice work. Thanks for your service.
  7. Great job on the portraits. Did you create the patterns? If so, what software did you use (if you used software)?

    New here

    Welcome from Ohio!
  9. Double-sided tape is my choice, also. I found that I can use it to secure wood to a carrier board and plane them down to 3/64". I just put a piece on each end and run it through. The next time I need to sand small pieces I'll try using it to hold pieces to a small board and use the mop sander.
  10. I asked uncle AI what the core is made from and this is what was returned... a dense, heavy-duty hardwood veneer ply core, similar to Baltic birch. Whereas Baltic birch plywood core are layers of Baltic birch.
  11. That's pretty neat. I saw a lot of those levitators on Amazon and thought they were cool. Does the item need to be pretty balanced on the floating disc to work?

I have a bunch of them too, but since the ornament was already painted I didn't want to take a chance of marking up the paint.

Barb, I ended up taping two or three pieces at a time, with masking tape, to a board and putting weights on it. Worked well. I even did a drop test (unintentional) and it survived unscathed.

Thanks @FrankEV. This was an easy cut (3 at a time), paint and assembly. The assembly took the most time. Needed just the right amount af glue to prevent squeeze out and no good way to clamp it. My granddaughter thought it was a cookie before I hung it on the tree. I did carve a few but painting became more difficult. Those came out only OK. Carving went much quicker, I just need to learn how to paint a little better.
  16. Very nice Paul. How big I'd it? That would look good on a wall with or without a frame.
  17. It's a beauty. Great job!

  20. Nice! People here get me in the Christmas spirit. Thanks.
  21. Welcome to the Village! The pattern library on this site is a lot of good starter patterns. Since it's Christmas season maybe start making a few ornaments. Have fun and be sure to show us what you make.
  22. I tried that and almost everything came up in Pintrest posts. I like the pattern and will be following this post in hopes to find a source for the pattern.
  23. Also, before you print it or make it a pdf, remove the bitmap image underneath for cleaner lines.
  24. Hmm, it printed fine for me in both svg and pdf format. Try grouping the whole wing and printing.
