  1. Welcome from Ohio!
  2. It still looks like a good bowl to me. I did something like that once. I cut the bottom off on the and saw, sanded, and glued the bottom back in place.
  3. Welcome from Ohio!
  4. I think Steve Good made a sail boat pattern with chatGPT. I don't think he made it from a picture, though.
  5. Did did you mean Cardinal and flower? I haven't seen a robin in flower from Frank.
  6. Welcome from Ohio, USA!
  7. You know, it's funny when one of us old farts do that. lol That is one that I have yet to do. I hope the project wasn't damaged.
  8. Diane Thompson had three of her clocks in SSWW magazine, summer 2001. Not sure if that is one of hers. You could probably make a pattern based on the photo.
  9. Welcome from Ohio!
  10. Good morning RoseMary and welcome to the Village. We have several active members in Wisconsin and maybe one of the is close to you and can help. You can also search for a local woodworking club for help. Hang in there as the scroll saw is a fun and useful tool.

    Hello!

    Welcome to the Village!
  13. Oh,I thought it was a sunfish.
  14. What is the thickness of the wood you are drilling? Hole saws don't clear out the wood very well. Have you tried drilling half way through, flip the board over and finish from the other side? Also drill a little, clear the kerf, then drill a little more and repeat until you're through. I love making wheels. I usually buy the small ones and make the big ones.
  15. BTW,this is probably the only place someone will ask for a close-up of your crack.
  16. I would add wood glue from the back, just enough to get into the crack but not seep out the front. Once that glue is dried, wet sand the front side around the crack with whatever finish you plane to use on the project. The saw dust/finish slurry should fill any cracks. Once this dries, sand the whole project and apply your finish. I don't know if any penetrating finish like BLO I tung oil will work with this method.
  17. Most of my corrugated boxes are used to squeeze paint out of brushes and rollers. I've used over a dozen for that over the last 8 months. The rest either go covering table tops when the grandkids want to paint or to the wife for shipping boxes (she sells a lot on eBay). I've never used a backer for cutting. If I'm using thin wood I'll just make a stack 1/2" thick or more and cut extras.
  18. I tossed mine 20 years ago. Not needed.
  19. Like John said, it will turn brown. If you leave it unfinished you may be able to sand it when it turns brown and bring back the red, but that seems like a lot of work.
  20. Those may be nice for cabinet door panels.

  22. Excellent!!
  23. Both Bauer and Rikon are made in China, probably from the same manufacturer. Both seem to be made well. But as you said, time will tell.

    Hello

Welcome to the Village, from Ohio!
  25. When I dip ornaments I dip and hang them for about 15 minutes, then wipe off the access. I use compressed air set to about 15 psi to blow drips from the crevasses and give them one more wipe down and hang them to dry. This works for most oils.
