  1. Welcome back, Barry! (I really wish you name was Kotter.) LOL
  2. My old eyes are playing tricks on my again. Thought I saw one in on the paw farthest to the right.
  3. Outstanding! Being done with a fretsaw is amazing enough, but it also looks like there is only one bridge holding the dog to the board. So cool.
  4. No problems here,either.
  5. Look here. https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/profile/40366-russ-beard/?tab=node_gallery_galleryImages
  6. Gregg, I'll send you my address and I'll store them while you ponder all the possibilities.
  7. If you have a library nearby, check them out. If they have scroll saw books with pattern you can print one up right there. Or, you can probably put digital patterns an a USB drive and print them at the library. The patterns in the Village library has a great variety. Other than that just browse the pattern sites, as mentioned.
  8. If you think it will help then definitely get one. There are many out there. Home Depot sells an LED lamp for $25.19. It doesn't have a cover but you can just toss a cloth or make some type of cover if needed.
  9. Welcome from Ohio!
  10. I just made a sign out of cedar fence pickets. I also made the letters out of the scrap cedar. So far all is well, even after 8" of snow. I used Titebond III to glue everything together.
  11. Welcome from Ohio!
  12. That's awesome, Paul. Is that your pattern? I can't stop making things for my 4 grandkids. The two boys really love trucks. And after doing finishing work on the garage I have plenty of scraps.
  13. Welcome from Ohio.
  14. Thanks posting. I was excited but after reading the article and thinking of the cost, for us sawdust makers an air filtration system like the Wen or Rikon, both well under $200, have many advantages, including cost over a few years. The CFM for the Wen is 400, compared to 239 for the Corsi-R. The Wen takes up less shop space as it's smaller and hangs from the ceiling. It has a remote control for power and fan speed. The Corsi-R has to be totally disassembled to change the filters. This system was designed to remove viruses, which is good, but the least concern in my shop. I'll use a filtration system to help remove dust and a mask to protect my lungs.
  15. Harbor Freight has a dust extractor for the same price as the Dust Right extractor. It has good reviews but is not available in any nearby stores. I was thinking of checking it out but for the price I'd probably go with the Dust Right for their reputation. I won't pay for high-end ones as I wouldn't use it enough to justify added cost.
  16. Welcome from Ohio!
  17. Any wood that's free. Or, depends on the project. Love the smell of walnut and cherry, curly and ambrosia maple, colors of bloodwood and yellowheart. The list goes on.

    Back in it...

    Welcome from Ohio!
  19. They look pretty small. I would glue sandpaper to popsicle sticks, working from 80 grit to 220 grit.
  20. That looks great. And amazing detail for the size.
  21. I just bought some Trend Air Stealth masks. The are pretty comfy so far. I haven't used them enough to see if they fog the glasses.
  22. Although their headquarters are in Boston, Temu is owned by a Chinese businessman. I've heard a lot of complaints about them.
  23. I've thinned polyurethane be with mineral spirits (50/50) and it dries fast, but not as fast as shellac. What ever you use, be sure to wipe down all the drips before the start setting up.
  24. You can probably go as thin as you want if you add a thicker backer. A backer of 1/2" plywood glued to the piece should work well. Most of mine are roughly 3/4" thick with 1/8" backer.
  25. Rest in peace,Wayne.
