  1. Fantastic!! I love German Shepard. That one will keep burglars out of your house for sure.
  2. I agree that customer service has changed in the big picture. There are some companies that still seem to care, though. I have had my Delta P-20 for about 10 years. It's built well but I have replaced the bearing twice. I love when the saw purrs along quietly doing its job, but when the noises start creeping in I see it as a challenge. I just bought some bearings for $3 each (extras on hand) but the next time I need to replace it I'll do some research as I have seen the same size cost over $30. I'm not sure if that means they are better but I'll be researching and asking more questions next time.

Nice job! From the title I thought you were buying.
  4. Nice! White walnut on black walnut. Very cool.
  5. First, thank your son-in-law for his service. If you peruse Steve Good's blog patterns you're sure to find something. You could make an intersecting word art plaque with "major" and his name.
  6. Oh yeah, thanks for your service!
  7. Thanks Troy. I'm not a coffee drinker but some company and conversation is a good start to the day. We are finally warming up here in SW Ohio.
  8. Great pattern and cutting. I bet Jan did the painting. Terrific!
  9. All the best adjectives were used but I'll repeat them... OUTSTANDING, WOW, FANTASTIC!
  10. Great find Alex. That is pretty cool but I don't think I'll be making one.

Sweet! Another terrific job by a team that knows what it's doing. I wish my wife would paint.
  12. Nice cutting! I like the color.
  13. Well, well, well. I've heard of French cleats. Yes sir, these are a type of French cleats. I thought it was something the Paris football team wore. John, I'm with you on using screws, it's a much stronger, more secure way to hang things. But my wife likes to rearrange things and this is easier for her and me. Happy wife = happy life. I bet these would be easy to make on a 3D printer. Hint, hint. BTW, I can't seem to stop making these birdhouses. Am I sick? (Don't answer that Jerry.) it's a great use of scraps, which I have plenty of.
  14. Welcome to The Village Ed!
  15. Those look great. Thanks for sharing.
  16. I was looking for a way to hang things without putting more holes in the walls. I came up with this idea which is new to my. I wanted to use the 3M Command adhesive strips as they don't leave marks and are easy to remove. But how do I make a hanger that is pretty secure yet thin? Here's what I came up with. Cut a piece of 1/8" ply to fit the piece you want to hang. Make sure to it sets in from the sides of your project enough that it doesn't show when hung. This shape doesn't really matter. Tilt the scroll saw table to 30° and cut a rectangle out of that piece. See picture below. I used a #7 blade but a blade with a smaller kerf will work fine. You now have two pieces that fit snug together. The outer piece gets glued to the back of you project. Make sure the bevel faces the project. Attach the Command strip to the beveled face of the smaller "key" piece. Once the glue on the project hanger has had time to set slide the key into the hanger. If it is a bit loose you can add a piece of paper behind the key to sore of wedge it in place, just be sure the key will still slide out. Once the project is oriented as you like just press it to the wall.
  17. Welcome to The Village Dan. Great group of people here, an extended family. Like my mom use to say... "Our family is like fudge: mostly sweet with a few nuts." And,oh boy, another Dan!
  18. Great pattern and cutting. The wild grain really made me search for hidden treasures. Love the whole experience.
  19. Beautifully executed!
  20. I think the color is the magic. Cool!
  21. I'm not sure if this covers your model. http://www.axminster.co.uk/media/downloads/505078_manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwja7OqDx9XYAhUiYt8KHdEyBw8QFjAPegQIDxAB&usg=AOvVaw0d4Ck0bIhQ333NufFTjl7y
  22. Paul, that's very similar to what I'm doing now. The carving/shaping is the hard part. I may try adapting your idea to a very thin screw to help hold it. Right now I use a 3" long pin (the kind used in upholstering) to hold during painting.
  23. Thanks Tom. I have one very similar. The bits are less than 3/4" long so the vices are not much help.
  24. Perfect! I wouldn't change a thing.
  25. Super job! The detail is excellent.
