  1. My son picked up 3 used Craftsman scroll saws yesterday. All of them have something wrong but all have different problems but they were free. He asked me to look at them and see if we could make at least one good one. I replaced the switch on one this morning and now the motor works. The linkage for the lower arm is missing so I think we can have one good one. I will have me son work with me on this as he should learn a little about the saw. If we get another one working I may buy it from him for a backup saw.
  2. Great job on all of them. I love the bird house.
  3. Flying Dutchman are the blades I use also. I love them. Olson blades are also great and I wouldn't hesitate to buy those either.

Looks great Larry. Wolves are always a favorite of mine.
  5. Looks great Scott. Congrats on the sales. That's like scoring two touchdowns before the game starts. Let us know how the rest of the sale goes.
  6. Sounds like a successful day Jim. I love the boxes you make.
  7. Good luck Dan. Hope all goes well on both days.
  8. I have the Delta P-20 and it seems fine but I may give the foam a try to see if there is any change. Thanks.
  9. As most have said, you will know or learn when to change blades. I think in general it depends on the type of wood and thickness, but I have cut 3/4 inch cherry and gone through a lot of blades then cut some more and go through fewer blades. Find what works for you and scrolling will be more enjoyable.
  10. Nice work Jerry. That reminds me of some Gary Browning portraits. Wild Bill did some good work on the pattern too.
  11. Very well done.
  12. Nice paint job. I also like it. I believe the late Dirk Boelman designed it.
  13. Welcome to the Village Dale. You'll find great advice and fabulous project here. Be sure to check out the pattern thread for more ideas.
  14. Welcome to the Village Brian. Your puzzles look great. I love the cross, simple and unique. I can't wait to see more of your work.
  15. Welcome to the Village Pete. Sounds like you have your priorities in order.
  16. Welcome to the Village John. You'll find lots of ideas here so no problem in that area. Be sure to post some pics too.
  17. A friend at work bought a house and just got married. I thought I'd make them a housewarming gift. It is complete with their house number and a bird bath.
  18. I'm in the same boat as most everyone...never used it. It seems to me that any lubricant would not last long on a blade. Packing tape is what I use on thick cuts.
  19. Excellent work, Art. You are master of acrylics.
  20. Excellent work, Art. You are master of acrylics.
  21. Excellent! I grabbed a copy also. Thanks!
  22. I'm not positive but were the original belts leather? If so, check a local leather goods store. If I'm way off base here, just disregard my comment.
  23. Looks like a winner already.
  24. I think it would look good with colored backing. It would show more contrast and keep any small items from falling out or getting caught.
