  1. Nice work! I hope you fishing partner is not you hunting partner, too. lol
  2. Excellent work.
  3. Thanks everyone. I put the pattern on last year and every part that was uncovered got a sunbath. Hehe. Dick, I think I did post the photo then the pattern. If I were to use the oattern again I would not cut the area below the tail.

  5. I love both of them, with and without color. You did a fantastic job. Keep up the great work.
  6. I started this about one year ago then it sat until last month. I took a picture of the hawk in my brother's backyard, converted it to a pattern, then put it on wood. The wood is cherry. The flaw is a knot that was originally in the board. It's finished with satin polyurethane. I did torch the edges to give is some sort of framing. Most of it was cut with a FD-#1UR and some with a #1 spiral. I did notice some fading of the wood after I removed the pattern. Learned a lesson there.
  7. Great job. I want to know how you hot Roly's wife to pose for such a long time. Lol
  8. Kevin, with all thescrolling you bust out, you should use a treddle-powered saw. You would then weigh 120 lbs. Great work old boy, keep it up.
  9. Hey Nick, Can you post the picture here? I don't have a facebook account and I can't view the picture without an account. Thanks.
  10. Just curious...does the dust/shavings from Plexiglass stick to you because of static? If so, has anyone tried wiping down their arms, legs, and face with a fabric softener sheet? I know a lot of folks use it on their face shield to cut down on dust particle accumulation. I use a shop vac to clean off after cutting Plexiglass.
  11. So Kevin, what was the outcome? Did it work? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well done! Very crisp and clean. I can see those being heirlooms.
  13. Well Luis, the only suggestion I have is...don't be so hard on yourself. That looks fantastic! I love the rearing horse, the details are well balanced, and your selection of wood for the project is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
  14. Hmmm, Lexan isn't wood so I wouldn't chance it. I know you will try it and that will be an educational experience to share. If we don't hear from you soon I'll call 911.
  15. Excellent Ron! The black mat and frame really bring out the design.
  16. Super job Jim! Would look great above the mantle or in the man cave. Kudos to Don for the design.
  17. This pattern is from SSWC magazine by Alison Tanner. I haven't decorated for Halloween in many years so I decided to start this year and this is a nice piece to get me started. I hope to do a larger one to put in the front yard, but I would have to cut it with a jigsaw.
  18. I assume you are cutting from a log. I usually cut boaeds 2" thick, seal the ends and let them sit a year or two. I have an el cheapo moisture meter and check every now and then. Some woods will dry much faster than others. And, depending on the species and how it was cut, the board will twist, cup, and bend a bit. My 2" board yields a 1" to 1.75" board after planing. I sometimes will buy 8/4 lumber and resaw to get more for my money. Of course, if you figure the time it takes to reaaw and surface the board you may not save much $$ but it is satisfying to do.
  19. Roly, don't forget to save any leftover pieces to use in the smoker. It's great for smoking baby back ribs and jerky.
  20. Outstanding Bendita! Bueno.
  21. Thanks for the suggestion Dick. I'll be visiting their website this weekend. In SSWC magazine Dirk has a pattern for veterans. I plan to make several of them to give to our local Veteran Services to give to local veterans.
  22. Nice one, Kevin. You need to repost it a month before Easter next year. I can see it being a great seller at craft show, too. Is this your pattern? If so, would you mind sharing it for us?
  23. Nice design Richard. I like the blank ribbon so users can put their own words on it. Did you use software to draw it?
  24. Travis, this is the best collection of free patterns available. The organization is top-notch, too. My thanks to you, everyone who helped you put this together, and all the pattern designers. It's also helpful to have the various ways to sort the gallerys. Thanks for all the hard work.
  25. Welcome to the Village Michael. Thanks for your service and we are looking forward to seeing those patterns.
