  1. Oi, that's cheating but clever and nice cheating.
  2. If I could write as neat as you do Brenda I would sign my work the same way.
  3. Another vote for changing the lines to red, also use a magnifying light.
  4. I've just downloaded this font, it comes as a zip file, I extracted to the desktop then right clicked the ttf file and then install. I then opened Inkscape and the font is there.
  5. Hi Don, I buy all my ply from SLEC, I don't know how they'll compare with your supplier but worth having a choice. https://www.slecuk.com/ply/birch-ply/60mm-14quot-birch-bbbb?limit=25
  6. I finish the majority of my work with Danish Oil. Either dipped or brushed on.
  7. When spray gluing the pattern to the wood use a repositionable glue onto the back of the pattern not the wood. No painters tape or anything else needed except for thick wood 3/4" and over, when clear packing tape over the pattern to prevent the cut burning. I have used this system for over 20 years and it's never been a problem getting the pattern off of the wood.
  8. She said " is it really 10 years" She bought it off of Amazon search saddle stools or something similar. that's the best we can do I'm afraid.
  9. I'll ask, but it was 9 years ago when she bought it.
  10. I think we've all done that Brenda, me more than once. What I do now when I've had a bit of a layoff from the saw is to do some practice cuts before starting a new project, just to get the feel of the saw once again. I hope that you're going to cut it again.
  11. In 2004 my daughter bought me one of these saddle shape stools, the best thing she ever bought me for the shed.
  12. This is my portable saw, A Hobbies A1.
  13. For what the blades cost I'd sooner put a new blade in.
  14. I was thinking the same, well cut Brenda.
  15. Here's the pattern as a jpeg, the original is a Coreldraw file, not sure if you can open that.
  16. There seems to be a few staying safe patterns just recently so here are a couple that I've done. I have two very good friends, one is a baker and the other a chocolatier.
  17. Brenda, Try repositionable spray glue, no need for thinners to remove the pattern. I'm currently using one from Crafters Companion (the purple can) and I've found it to be very good. I apply the glue to the back of the pattern, sand the wood to 240, clean off the dust then stick the pattern on. It leaves little or no residue that can't be removed with a quick sand. https://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/craft-essentials/glues-adhesives/glue-sprays.html
  18. It's the release agent on the back of the packing tape that acts as the lubricant to prevent burning. Think about it, If they didn't put anything on the back of the tape then you wouldn't be able to unroll it.
  19. Neither do I Marge, so it's to Google I go.
  20. Travis has updated the forum software and wants to know of things not behaving as was.
  21. We do it in the UK, also on the 18th birthday as it's now the year of the coming of age.
  22. Very nice Brenda. Welcome to world of commission work.
  23. Here's one video. Steve Good also has a Carter write up on his blog from 2008. http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2008/03/carter-johnson-puzzle-maker.html
  24. A small corner today, the whole workshop tomorrow. Look out Tony, Brenda's coming.
  25. Nice space there Brenda. It's a long time since I've heard anyone other than me utter that phrase, which makes it doubly funny here because we live in a bungalow.
