  1. Have you tired E-Replacement parts?
  2. Welcome aboard from a SSV member on the other side of the river.
  3. Internet sales are so anonymous you simply have no idea what's on the other end. They often receive high marks here so thanks for providing a great description.
  4. I can't wait to see it with finish on it. Really nice job!!!
  5. Love it.
  6. I prefer the Olson brand but given how relatively inexpensive blades are and how absolutely important they are - try both and decide for yourself.
  7. Looking good, Dan.
  8. That's how I was taught. I too noticed the Festool track. I purchased the Makita version and love it, so easy to break down sheet goods.
  9. Nice job on the spoke. Do you make a template so you can cut and route (I assume you're routing the easing of the spoke edge)? I'm looking forward to this build.
  10. I agree with Ike, it's about time things go your way. Great news.
  11. First rate!
  12. Very creative, I hope it lasts a long time.
  13. Very nice!
  14. Excellent model work
  15. I use it in the shop quite a bit, but not for scroll work. Yes the dust is pretty bad, but it's cheap, flat, cuts & sands easily, can be found at most any home center in .25", .5" and .75" thicknesses in half and full sheets. In addition to the whole dust thing the other attribute that is a negative is the weight. I think a full sheet of 3/4" is 110 lbs., ugh. Mostly I use it to make patterns for larger woodworking projects. But I also keep a sheet to put on saw horses for an assembly/finishing table.
  16. I gave them a try a couple of times but I think hand sanding and files are the way to go.
  17. I prime woodworking projects with plain or tinted shellac.
  18. Every 'floor' tool in my shop (12' x 14') is on wheels. Jim's idea of using two wheels makes a lot of sense.
  19. Wow, that came out great.
  20. I have a Earlex HVLP sprayer that I use. I like it a lot but don't use it for craft work. Someone on this site, although I'm sure I couldn't find the thread, suggested using an air brush spray system for craft projects. Whomever posted it suggested HF's unit. I've had it on my shopping list for a few months but it never gets to the top of the pile. Cleaning spray units can be a pain especially if you need a solvent. I spray shellac and have a gallon of alcohol that I pour into a bucket to clean the parts. When I'm done I pour it back into the original container. I'll use the same stuff several times before running it to my local hazardous waste center.
  21. I've found this product Evapo-rust works pretty well. https://www.amazon.com/Evapo-Rust-ER012-Original-Super-Remover/dp/B00M0TLQ66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469325817&sr=8-1&keywords=evaporust I don't think I'd try painting.
  22. I'm in, thanks for the reminder and all your hard work!!!
  23. Nothing like a new tool to put a smile on your face. Have fun.
  24. I think you need to use a mechanical device like a combination square to set the table at 90° relative to a blade under tension. Then you can use a Wixey, zeroing out the reading on your table at the 90° you established. The Wixey will then provide accurate reading rotating right or left. The Droid smartphone app I have can not be zeroed out. But let's see what Travis suggests.
