  2. Can anyone tell what species wood this is? I bought it a long time ago from woodcraft.com but cant find it on there anymore Its brown with light tan splotches
  3. I use two 20 inch fans, one with a 1 inch filter to collect the fine particles. Seems to work really well
  4. Can you post a picture if it? I cant visualize what you mean When mine went out i hooked my compressor up to the air tube and turned the regulator way down low. It constantly blew air, and much better than the bellows.
  5. I think i understand your pain but like you said at least you have a good job. In my small town they just layed off another 400 people.

  14. i didn't catch that the first time I looked at it. I like that. Great job
  15. The box looks great! I just bought a craft pack of polymer baking clay from walmart for like 5 bucks. I've played with it only once, seems pretty easy to do. again great job on the box!
  16. That is a great looking clock! I did one about a year ago, but it doens't work, it's just a neat looking dust collector. I think one of my gears is out of round a little cause it runs for about 20 seconds and stops, I can push past that spot and it does it again.
  17. Hosted on photobucket....
  18. I've been working on some boxes, never tried to make these before so even though I'm happy with them, i've got some changes for the next boxes First box i made with baltic birch plywood to keep it inexpensive, but I really like how the plywood layers made strips! Lined the drawers with felt. the second box is a request from my daughter, a small box with her name in the top. the name split the wood a little and didnt' fill all the gap (I should have recut the letters with more angle, instead I sanded them off which left gaps between the letters and the top) made with poplar and the letters are black walnut. Corners are hand cut dove tails. the last box is out of a scroll saw magazine, all baltic birch plywood, the dark portions are simply stained. The inlay came out really good on this one. but the bottom and corners need to be a little better. the corners on this box are simply cut to a 45 degree angle and glued together. Like I said all experimentation at this point, the next generation of boxes should be much better.
  19. Hello and welcome, I use birch plywood for all types of projects. Actually I can't think of one that wasn't done with birch plywood at least first. It's easy to work with, you can produce very nice projects with it.
  20. Looks great, I've got a similar pattern just havent gotten the nerve to do it. Too many holes!! If I do it I'll stack cut it cause I won't want to do it again. LOL
  21. Glad to hear they traded it out, at least for me, it's rare to find stores that really take care of the customer.
  22. Whoo hooo we're in the lead. LOL
  23. yeah I love it, but like he said, I wouldn't have painted maple, if I was going to paint it, i'd have used some other cheap wood, MDF, or plywood even.
  24. UR blades have reverse teeth throughout the length of the blade not just at the bottom. Mike said that one end of the blade was marked to denote the top. The only mark I saw was the small bent at one end.
