  1. That's what I'm going for next Kevin, a band saw. I can keep using my drill, I want to be able to resaw some 3/4" maple.
  2. Started cutting this morning, a potrait from Charles Dearing. I have a question, hoping it's just because it's new and I'm not familar with it. While I'm cutting, off and on there is a rattle in the housing for the upper arm. It's not very loud but it does sound like something is lose or coming lose. Is this something the saw does till it is broke in or is it worth getting it looked at?
  3. Thanks! @rjR, that's a 24" 2 speed Craftsman. And yes, it's a monster! I have that one and a 16" Ryobi. The Ryobi parts have been trash lately and the Craftsman only has snail and lightning speeds. So I got ol' yeller. Test cut a couple pieces, not gonna get down till tomorrow. The best part of it is, I won't have to share my radio with the neighbors any more! It's a quiet saw!
  4. Can't wait to get cutting!
  5. Awesome Keefie, lookin good.
  6. After all the posts about the UR blades, I'm wondering what kinda blades I'm really using. I just cut these about an hour ago out of 1/2" popla using FD-UR #3 and they are full of fuzzies. Are the blades in the pic the ones you're talking about?
  7. I've been using the FD-UR #1 and #3s. I know the dent in the end of the blade is the top (I think so). They are sharp and cut very good. But I don't see where people that use them say there are no fuzzies! Everything I cut with them have to be sanded. They leave just as much fuzz as any other blade I have used. They're good blades, I still buy and use them but they leave a lot of fuzz, on top and bottom.
  8. Sure can't wait to get the new saw boy! Cut this Charles Dearing pattern the last 2 days and used all these blades!
  9. Thanks for the info Mike. As for having no room to feed the blade, I have the problem with my Craftsman now. In the pic, I'm cutting 1/8" stock and only have 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" space tp lift it. When I cut 3/4" or 1" stock, it's really a bear!
  10. Been having a lot of trouble with my scroll sawa lately. Don't know what the problem is, but I've been through 3 tensions rods for my Ryobi in the last 2 weeks. I use my 24" craftsman, but since it only has 2 speeds, snail and lightning, which lightning is just too fast and snail is too slow I go through blades like crazy. So, i gave in and ordered a Dewalt 788! I will get it before the 29th. I know the majority of you have one, is there anything I should know before using it? I'm excited!!!
  11. Went in the mail today Kevin,
  12. I bought some blades from Mike and bought the wrong ones. They're FD-HD #2s and cost $4.95. If anyone's interested in buying them I'll sell the for $4.95 and I'll pay the postage. I'd rather do that than pay a $3 restocking fee. If interested let me know.
  13. Nice work on the pattern and the cutting, looks awesome!
  14. Nice cutting, looks very good.
  15. That's an awesome piece Keith!
  16. Thanks for the info Don. I talk to the guy and I'm gonna pass on it. I want something a little more up to date.
  17. So it's worth the price?
  18. This one's going cheap also.
  19. It's selling cheap out here, but I've never heard of it.
  20. That's an awesome piece Richie. Is there a dowell holding the horse to the base?
  21. Thanks everyone! Expanded it a little.
  22. The minion was made by Smitty
  23. Cut from 3/4" poplar.
  24. Russell, I apologize for being such a (male apendage) to you. You're right, I had stopped by the site a time or 2 and said nothing to you or Bob. I'm sorry! I downloaded the patterns but didn't take the time to look at them. I know it takes time to make patterns escpecially if you don't know what your'e doing (ME). I've been having some family problems and did not mean to take it out on you. Thank you for taking the time to make that pattern for me!
  25. Those are awesome Jim great job! Is Bullfrog Graphics still in buisness?
