  1. Welcome Nikki. My favorite blades are also FD but I like the new 3/0 spiral.
  2. Dick that is a beautiful piece of work.
  3. I couldn't get the picture to enlarge either. From what I could see from the small picture you did a fine job.
  4. I'm with you John. I'll take the heat over the snow. Glad it cooled down a little for you.
  5. Nice setup and work.
  6. Yea. I have seen more politics than I want.
  7. Mostly flying Dutchman but I do have a few olsen.
  8. Very sad. RIP Mike.
  9. I have a six gallon oil less. When I bought it I thought it would be big enough. I don't use it a lot but when I do I wish it was bigger. It is also very loud. I hope to upgrade to a 30 gallon belt driven to get rid of a lot of the noise.
  10. Very nice. Looks like a few very delicate places that were hard to cut.
  11. My the tool in my picture is an underpinner. It drives v-nails in the corners of the frame to hold it all together.
  12. That little hand held cutter looks like it would be hard to use. I also had trouble getting the corners of the frame to look good. I was lucky to be able to buy a used joiner from work when they went out of business. You can find some for a decent price on the web.
  13. I didn't notice much of a learning curve with spiral blades, but they are the blades I started with. I have a heck of a time using flat blades. I use the FD new 3/0 spiral for all fretwork, stack cutting 3 pieces of 1/4" plywood and hardwood up to 3/8". For larger hardwood I will use a flat blade. Give them both a try and see what you like best. Welcome to the Village.
  14. Gonzo I hope you have better luck with the new saw. I don't hear of very many problems with the EX saws. Hopefully that was just a bad one.
  15. I stack cut three 1/4" pieces of birch plywood using a 3/0 spiral blade. If I was cutting 1/8" birch plywood I would stack 4 or 5.
  16. If you live near Parkersburg Woodcraft has good blades at a decent price.
  17. Very nice. I made one like that for my dad only rectangle. I put legs on it and turned it into a table.
  18. Nice shop sign Becky. Welcome to the Village.
  19. I buy all of my plywood from Lowes. You can buy a 4 by 8 sheet of birch or maple 1/4" thick for $19. The best part is they will rip it down to 1 foot by 4 foot pieces for free. You can get the same deal at Home Depot. I have used a lot of that plywood and have never had a problem.
  20. That's a new one for me. Thanks for sharing I will have to try it.
  21. Very nice. Congratulations Peter.
  22. I just use the Dremel tool hand held to drill.
  23. I use a router without the table. Just put a piece of carpet pad under the piece of wood you are going to router to keep it from moving. No clamping needed.
  24. Nice cutting. I don't know why but the first thing I thought of when I saw Jack Russell was the singer for Great White.
  25. My problem is I have used flat blades a few times and ruined projects. The picture in my first post is one of the ones I ruined. I can cut anything with a spiral blade no problem. I do use a flat blade when cutting 3/4" hardwood but I don't cut it that often.
