  1. No Paul I am afraid the aroma has all but gone, its been years since they have been in the wine.
  2. I made these plaques for 2 of my grandchildren for xmas,The dark timber in the guitar one is the wine stained timber that I was explaining in General Scroll saw section,The other I must thank Paul, I liked it so much I just had to make it for my granddaughter
  3. As I live in a major wine producing region I have managed to get a big stack of these oak boards from a winery I believe they use them stacked up in a stainless steel vat to impart the oak flavour to the wine,a modern twist to the oak barrels I guess. When they are cleaned up & polished they have a lovely reddish brown colour which has been produced from the wine. the boards are 36" x 3" x 1/4". I have used some in a plaque for my grandson Matty & you can check it out in the Bragging Rights section.
  4. Lots of Happy Feet there Smitty They look great mate.
  5. Roly you would find a lot of things out here going right back in time have been built with the good old corrugated iron ,I guess because it is easy to work with & is relatively cheap ,the price is my main concern as I am on a tight budget ,the heat wont be a problem as I am insulating the walls & ceiling with insulating bats. Cheers Peter.
  6. This is to show the progress on my new workshop, finished the framework today, next job will be the outside cladding (corrugated iron) then onto the insulation & internals.it is not overly large about 4 metres x 4 metres ,It will enclose an existing carport but at least now I will have somewhere to get out of the elements & with a bit of comfort. Cheers Peter.

  14. I am going to an art & crafts show in November so thought these xmas decorations might sell o.k, I would only charge a few dollars each for them. The Mr & Mrs sign is an order from the local Florist not really keen on the font but that is what they wanted.I am getting quite a lot of work from the Florist lately for weddings etc.The Design Your Sign one is for her also to advertise my signs. Cheers Peter.

  17. Merlin I use sutton hole saws which are supposed to be a good brand ,I cut the wheels then mount them one by one on an appropriate size headless bolt with a couple of nuts & washers, I then mount the bolt in a drill chuck that fits my lathe & finish them off.
