  1. Well done Richard you have mastered the dreaded spiral blades. I started out using the 2/0 blade then progressed to the 3/0 which is now my favourite spiral blade.
  2. Bet we can't get it down under.
  3. That's a great mistake Dave wish my mistakes turned out like that.
  4. You did just fine for your first name plate, well done.
  5. Thanks for the input Len but I have already tried this they were very hard to turn so i cleaned them up & lubricated them so they should be fine now.
  6. Worked beautifully Len only problem I have is the spiral blades bending on the lower blade holder I have tried all the tips I have found but still does it,Think I went through about 10 blades on this one.any clues?

  8. This is the first project on my new EX21 & the first project using spiral blades .Thanks to Neptune for this image.I know it is not perfect but I am quite pleased as to how it turned out.It is cut from Marine Ply & I used 3/0 Spirals. Now to work out what finish to use & frame it Cheers Peter
  9. I just bought a ex21 & am quite happy with it I have mine mounted on a home made wooden stand & it is as solid as a rock.I purchased a foot switch for $40 & wired it in myself ,can you buy the saw somewhere without the stand & foot switch, would be a lot cheaper.
  10. Well done Roly you certainly have some nice pieces on your stand, makes a terrific show, who could not resist buying something.
  11. Welcome Becky I to use my scroll sawing as therapy after a mild stroke, it has kept me focused & has given me something to look forward to,I like Marg am from Australia also.Enjoy your time with us.Cheers Peter
  12. My favourite would be" Birds of Paradise" sometimes "Ballpark " with a mixture of others.
  13. No Clayton the actual lining up of the holes is done before the saw is switched on & when lined up for the next hole with the arm raised again I found the laser to be pointing in the same location over the hole in the table. The laser is switched off between setting up for the next hole.
  14. Nicely done Dave that came out just right.
  15. Hi Sam yes I have adjusted the motor you can either put a 90 degrees set square in front of the blade so you can see what angle it is cutting or as I did put a piece of about 2" timber in front of the blade and watch where it is cutting I have mine set to just about 90 Degrees which left a faint saw cut the full height of the timber. I loosened the screws holding the motor just slightly so it just turns & turned the motor with it running till I was happy with the angle .If you run out of adjustment you can move the screws to the other end of the slot,Hope this helps you. Cheers Peter
  16. Glad this might be a solution for you, I must check at the hardware shop to check out there range of lasers that might be adaptable .Cheers Peter
  17. If it does not Len the nozzle on the laser gun swivels to give adjustment
  18. Never thought of that one Dan.
  19. I had a laser on my bench drill that I never used so I transferred it to my new EX21 ,When the top arm is in the raised position the laser is focused on the hole in the table. So now all I have to do is line up the cross hair on the drill hole in the pattern & know it is directly over the table hole. The batteries & switch are on one side of the top arm & the laser gun on the other. The photos might make it clearer.Cheers Peter
  20. Very nice Dick I to am attempting a spiral project as well & I hope mine comes out half as good as yours, well done
  21. Well cut I am sure they will love those.
  22. Your a clever sew & sew Kev.
  23. No Len it is the EX-21 I would be interested to Know the result as well, Cheers Peter.
  24. Hi Len I forked out $1099 Australian for the saw + $47 for the Freight
  25. I bought the light from our local Bunnings store but thats in Australia It is a LED clip on fitting & I attached it by using one of the screws in the top arm & a zip tie as well, the switch is held on top of the arm with double sided tape.
