  10. I have been looking for some Australian content in scroll saw patterns so when I found this one in the pattern library I jumped on it & thanks to Patch for the pattern,I made the backer a little larger to give it a framing effect.
  11. Hi Maurice glad to meet you .I am Peter from NSW .As to the saw I would get the best saw that you can afford ,I started out on a carbatec & it served me well for a couple of years. It was an 18" model with variable speed & it cost was $700 .I have since upgraded to an EX21 Or General as they are known in Australia but are pricey at $1100 but are a beautiful saw. Please just ask if you need any help or where to purchase blades etc.
  12. Well worth bragging about lovely job, congratulations on your awards.
  13. They are amazing Paul ,have often looked at those patterns but have not found the courage to tackle them so far.
  14. Eddie I mainly leave the glass out but the Galleon i cut I put the glass in to protect all the delicate pieces I would hate to see little fingers breaking away these small bits.
  15. Nice work Dick .I found the spirals to be quite daunting when I first started with them but now seem to have mastered them to some extent after lots of practice & mistakes.
  16. Len being from Australia we do not get the same type of plywood you get I suspect the plywood we get is some sort of pine. I will check to see what grade it is.
  17. Look Ok to me Edward should sell well.
  18. Thank you for the explanation it makes sense.I use the marine ply because it seems to be of better quality & less voids.
  19. Yes it is a Charles Dearing pattern.
  20. I stacked cut these two out of 4mm. Marine Ply & used both spiral & flat blades although the spirals especially did not last long before they were blunt so went through a lot of blades, the marine ply must be a lot harder than the Baltic Birch that a lot of you people use.Added a bit of colour to these for something a bit different, hope you like. Cheers Peter.
  21. Another nice one Rob.
