  1. Nicely done Marg ,very neat work.
  2. Ralph why not buy yourself an air brush I have one & find it terrific & is ideal for getting into all those nooks & crannies.
  3. Made this one from a drawing but only have permission to use it for personal use so far as it belongs to the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Commission. It is made from 4mm Ply & I also made the frame for it,I am quite pleased with the pattern as I have not tried pattern making before.Cheers Peter.
  4. Beautiful Frank ,just love the little one's.
  5. It would be a dull world Dick if we all thought the same.As long as you enjoyed making it that is all that matters.
  6. Dan they are between 10" to 11" in diameter,a good size for hanging on a door etc.
  7. I don't think I would have got the distinction Len & the leaves might tend to blend in with the backer.Just my view on it.
  8. What more can I say ,I agree with all of the above, beautiful work
  9. Well done excellent work.
  10. Nice cutting Dick I think with that pattern you could use what ever colour you like but on saying that you can't beat black for making a pattern pop.
  11. I stacked cut these two from a Sue Mey pattern .They were cut from 4mm marine ply with a 8mm MDF backing which I painted black instead of the Mahogany stain suggested in the plans.I think it stands out better with the black.Hope you like
  12. Well done Jim sorry to hear about your mishap,In Australia if the police catch you on the phone while driving you are up for a very hefty fine .It's amazing how many people I see still talking on their phone though.
  13. Beautiful work Tony & that's a striking resemblance .
  14. Nice piece Marg ,a few holding your breath moments in that one.
  15. Very professional, well done Dave.
  16. I have a customer who just loves American Indians he has already bought 2 off me ,so I thought I would make another in the hope he likes this one as well.If he does not a chap from the Men's Shed where I am a member said he would buy one .The one with the red backer is MDF ,I was using it as a sacrificial piece behind the plywood one.It came out so well I thought I might paint it & sell it also. Now to find frames for them.Cheers Peter. PS thanks to Fish for the pattern
  17. this is the first model Holden car produced in Australia .This one was more challenging than i expected but think it turned out not too bad .The car is cut from 4mm Marine Ply & the back is MDF with a routed edge . Thank you to Marg (wombatie) for the Pattern.
  18. Yes Brian I have trouble getting decent ply also & have turned to using Marine ply Its a bit pricier but I find it works so much better only down side to it is you will maybe go through more blades because of the glue they use in this plywood
  19. Dan glad you got that dastardly saw running the way it should ,can't wait to see that box when finished should look beautiful.
  20. It varies but usually try to cut on the line except for when I wander off & mainly like to cut anticlock & always cut the small difficult parts first in case I make a mistake, makes it easier to throw it away & start again.
  21. Rob I manage to find my marine ply at Bunnings in 2' x 4' sizes not sure if Bunnings is in NZ though, probablly not.
  22. My EX also does it very occasionally.
  23. Well cut Bobby, nothing wrong with that one .I also like the way you did the frame
