  1. If I paint a project it is usually with a airbrush, the backer is usually done with flat black rattle can after using painters tape around the edges & any other places that wont be seen ,it gives the glue more sticking power on the bare wood. I apply the glue with a 2 inch foam roller to the back of the project & use plenty of clamps while drying ,then a couple of coats of spray satin varnish

  3. I made these for the horse's stables at the Riding for the Disabled Association where I am a volunteer ,I still have four more to do but have to check on the spelling of the horses names first. It should make it a lot easier for the volunteer's to find the horse they have been allocated .Cheers Peter.

  7. They all look very nice especially in the different types of wood, I have made quite a few of these myself & they are fun to make ,wish I had the choice of timber that you have.

  14. When I started this I thought it might be a bit ambitious for me & part of the way through it I was sure it was ,anyway I persisted & got it finished at last ,learning a lot on the way there is a few mistakes but overall I am happy as to how it turned out.Cheers Peter

  17. Yes Kev I always use a block of wood underneath anything that I drill & like Len I give the back of the cutting a good hand sanding, usually down to 400 grit
  18. Could be a hit with other caravan or as you say trailer people.

  22. Like the others say use a flat blade for the present you will find it much easier. try the spirals after you have mastered the flats, & practice practice practice on the spirals, you will master them eventually.
