  1. I have 2 Granddaughters (same Mom). They are as different as night and day. The oldest plays field lacrosse. One tough sport. She lives and breaths "Lady Blue Knights" so I made a plaque for her and the coach. I had to come up with something for the other and I made the other for her passion.
  2. Disney characters are subject to copy right and so selling or distributing patterns would be a no no. For your personal use, I suggest that you google "coloring pages frozen" and from there it is fairly easy to make your own pattern. It has to be for personal use only. Lets not get SSV if trouble with the Big Bad Wolf at Disney.
  3. Steve Good has a keychain program. The video is at and the link to download the program is there. I have made a couple of hundred as gifts. They would be good sellers. The semicolon makes the star and the comma does the heart just to make them different.
  4. Done with cherry. Dipped in 50% solution of sanding sealer. Beal buffed tipoli and carnauba
  5. I made a key chain for each of the girls on my granddaughter's lacrosse team. They are for their team bags that all look alike so they now have name and number. Steve Goods keychain maker.
  6. Based on Steve Good's blog this am. This is my take on the pattern
  7. Sawfish you where do you live? King has the 21inch in Canada. With the exchange rate it would be a good deal if you are near the border. I have EX-21 (Excalibur) for over 7 years now, It is the best decision I ever made as I am a fairly heavy user at times and have only replaced blade holder once. I have had friends who have gone through 2 Deltas in that time. Parts should be available from King or from Seyco. 16 inch?? It depends completely on the type of ornaments you do. For my stuff, it would handle most of what I do. Lots of ornaments and keychains, baskets so you would have to think about that.
  8. I like it when people post questions as it is a great way to learn. I took the image above copied into Inkscape and used trace bitmap. I had to up the brightness threshold to .68 to get all the image. Went to the node editor and deleted some nodes on the right. Duplicate 7 times and aligned on page. No idea what size you were looking but here is image with 8 occurrences.
  9. Look fantastic. Are these laminated or is the cross and maple leaf in laid? Did you buy the veneer or make it yourself? Have a great trip and let me know when you get back. Thanks Don.
  10. great idea. I would charge more that $10 for sure if not everyone thinks they are from China and not hand made,
  11. I was cutting 1/2 inch plywood with the FD-UR 5 and thought I would give the Pegas another try. Didn't like the aggressiveness on cutting tight corners but I put it down to what you are most comfortable with. So last night, I was cutting some silhouettes and thought I would switch to the Pegas to see. Cut fine but I did find the edges were not as smooth as with the Ultra Reverse. I don't even have to sand the FD as the cut is as smooth as glass but the Pegas are a little fuzzy and had to run by the mop stander. Not a big deal but it was less work with the FD-UR. I tried to take a picture to show the difference but my camera skills don't show it. Will try again.
  12. I love my Rigid as warrantied for life. When I moved the movers messed it up and Rigid still stood behind it and sent me a new one even thought it was the nut was jammed on. Since you are a fellow Canuck, you should watch the Swap meet on https://www.canadianwoodworking.com/ On the forum. there was a 1 inch belt sander not long ago that went real cheap. They also run a "rucker" request to get things delivered too. You never know what comes up.
  13. Checkout stockroom supply. drum sander I bought the Flatmaster already assembled as I am not very mechanical.
  14. I saw on Facebook where someone had done a tree of life on a turned piece so I had to try myself. Turned a platter with African mahogany (lip is down about 1/4). I reversed and made a recess for the backer (1/8)
  15. I forgot that I had my wife's card until it came up on Facebook memories today. I am going to make a version of this for next year as we are both chocoholics.
  16. Cheap Card. Designed it myself Will add some verse to back.
  17. I have order animal puzzles from Iggy. They cut great and service is top notch www.WoodcraftByScott.com 1 new2woodwrk reacted to this
  18. Really looks great. It can be done in GIMP (free program). I don't know about batches but in Gimp. 1. Open PDF 2. Rotate 3. Paste in image of card. (I had a jpg of KISS). I already had in Clip Board 4. Export to JGP
  19. Now that Travis has shown us how to add out own bridges I use whatever looks best. I do have a lot of scrollable fonts I have accumulated ever since the Free4all days. The ones I use most are
  20. This is the free pattern from Shelia Landy. I will still have to come up with a card idea. This was the one from last year. I gave this to my wife and she had a store bought that said she loved me more than chocolate so it was a real hoot. After 49 years we think a like.
  21. What version of Windows are you using? I am using Windows 10 and I start with the window pane in left corner then settings.
  22. If you are using Windows. Go to settings. click on devices, click on typing and there should be options for spelling etc. I have everything turned on. I get spellchecking all the time and it seems to work okay.
  23. I too have purchased a number of pattern from Shelia and Keith and I like the extensive instruction even though I don't always read. (Man thing). with my last pattern I had a question and Shelia answered my questions immediately. Love the friendly newletters too.
  24. I get the malware message from the link. I went to YouTube and in the comments is a link to the same place and I downloaded the zip. Gives you different file types. I was able to open cdr in Inkscape and they manipulate. I had to group each layer and I then changed the stroke and enlarged by 150% as I thought It would be easier to my Grandkids. Not sure I will cut the eyes and mouth as I will let them use googly eyes and paint. Thanks to Alex for posting.
  25. Very nice, Frank. You certainly have been busy.
