  1. If this is a Russ Beard file it is available in Black and White and Red at https://www.facebook.com/groups/3356476637909790 under files section. I took the Black and White version from the facebook page and imported to Inkscape, did trace bit map. change stoke to red, fill to gray and this is the result. Same as Russ's red version. Here is a clip of upper corner so not to show complete pattern.
  2. What is the document properties under preferences. It looks like you have it set to letter instead of ledger 11x17
  3. The angle will change. You can calculate the angle here https://www.scrollmania.com/ This is from Carole at SSW Now, down to business. If you go to Dave's program (AngleCalc), enter the thickness of your wood as a decimal. Then, enter the ring width, also as a decimal. Go to where it says "angle" and click on "solve". The correct angle should appear. Round the number up, if necessary, and add one degree. That should work. However, to play it safe, send me a PM with your specs and I'll compute it for you. That way you can check your own work, and not risk ruining your wood.
  4. I don't have a 11x17 printer so when I have some thing large I just save as a PDF and use the poster function in Acrobat Reader. 11 x 17 prints on 4 pages. One thing you have to do is change your document size in Inkscape to 11x 17 and set at portrait or landscape. To create a multi page PDF you have to open the pages tool in the bottom left. Add pages as you want. Inkscape will only print the page you are on. To print all at once export to PDF and print.
  5. That is a really cool idea. I have made a lot of ribbon racks for various sports and this is a great. I have always used dowels or shaker pegs but this looks a lot easier.(and cheaper) Never thought of French cleat might have to steal the idea. Thanks for posting- Well done.
  6. I have been cutting a chess set out of 2x4 spf and have found that FD polar #5 and #7 work well. I have used #6 skip tooth successfully too.
  7. I think I have it. Will pm when I get home.
  8. I wanted issue 159 ( the one with Diana Thompson's awareness angel) and I was able to contact a seller on ebay that had a collection and they split the one off and sold it to me reasonably. Here is one seller https://www.ebay.ca/itm/116076942813?itmmeta=01HQTFVWZ932WBCHTMFDQD7E77&hash=item1b06b995dd:g:H9oAAOSwi25l17EL&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0IM4Nbs49vpNATDkMmx8O35W%2FDovAjcECWASdgbQT1Bolr9O7Tl0aYzFf4y8gqtZacjcac9KDeBAS%2B4WZ78G0Q%2FAHiXWnMZQam0OkPJEo3MJQ3sWcuDP%2BxlFwGtr0tDe54vJ%2BLppzhjFIIfrPEdaK%2FXN1bKCj9iZSh1vuaOcBLp%2FqtGSHewdYsxJfhjyppz%2Fkrg1dk%2BcEbFC3S00MyberUf%2FjKYg50j%2FBofYJJBWrYTBiASrG7xdtTmR541CIvo85vbsPPmORJbS7hwtV2HKtNk%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-DP78--Yw There maybe other too.
  9. If you like your King 16 inch why not the King 30 inch? Here is Canada the 30 inch just went on sale for same price as the 21 inch. These are Canadian Prices so they are way more than US$. Here in Canada the cost of a Pegas 30 inch is $1,874 so even with the new Pegas Blade Holders (if you think you want them) it is way cheaper. Food for thought, Steve Good posted awhile ago that 96% of his patterns could be cut on a 16inch and it would be possible to cut the rest with multiple holes. If I was in the US I would look seriously at a Seyco 21 or 24. I believe that Charles Dearing who does a lot of large portraits and pictures uses a Seyco. Quote from my presentation on Scroll Saws BUY THE BEST AND CRY ONLY ONCE
  10. Looks good but it should be easy to align and distribute. There are lots of videos on this from years ago. Here is one https://youtu.be/MNgjZDkQW1w?si=kddiK7YOSBolxtHy If still not working I would report to Inkscape. They have a forum and a bug report.
  11. For some reason the stars are grouped together with 2 gray boxes and a red one. If ungroup 3 times (ctrl-shift-g) you will end up with all the stars as individual objects. Delete theboxes and you can lasso the 7 at the top and centre align and the distribute with equal horizontal. Continue as per Travis's video. I hope that makes sense. Any more questions let me know. 12. Can you post the svg so we can take a look. I tried a quick blue block and 7 stars then the 6 and it seemed to work okay. I am using Windows 11 and inkscape 1.3.2 Don test.svg
  13. My Walmart usually has the book.. If there is something of interest I will buy it. Rolf, when the pattern is in the fold out do they send the pattern to you on the broadsheet or just the individual pattern. It is a real pain to copy the pattern especially if It is an Intarsia project that goes over the fold. I may give them a better evaluation if you had to copy like the buyer.
  14. Love the idea. I lost the battle with our squirrels here. Would love to have the birds on the railing, Very cool.
  15. Welcome from Brooklin, Ontario Canada. I think everyone takes off blade guard and looses it eventually unless RBI is any different.
  16. Can you post the SVG here so we can see how it opens in Windows. Don

  18. I did a baseball pattern for the Ornaments for Charity and test cut for my 2 grand sons and then the boss says what about the other 3. I came up with the attached. My Grand daughter is in woodworking at school and made an Adirondack chair, other GD is in a couple of musicals this year and the other grandson is a D&D fan.
