Great idea. I am very interested in this idea as last Christmas I made 50 small bowls like this and needless to say there was some issues in gluing up. What size pins did you use and what kind of pin nailer. The smallest my Ridgid pin nailer goes is 5/8.

I have been "playing" with Inkscape for the last 10 years. It all started with Free4all. Rick did a great set of videos on pattern making. That sparked my interest. I have watched all the videos here in the University which are great and also took the course by "Logos by Nick". https://logosbynick.com/inkscape/ The course by Nick are really great as he explains every command. He also has a bunch of videos on Youtube. If you have a question you can reach out to him and he will get back to you. The biggest thing with Inkscape is to keep at it and don't get frustrated. If you have a question post it here and someone will usually help.

Denny well done. Wichman This is the quote from Charles's web site stating you can it and sell it but not the pattern. This is pretty standard for all artists I think. NOTE: All images are protected by Copyright. Patterns are for your own use only. Do not Share, Sell or Distribute. Please DO NOT display patterns on Social media or otherwise without written permission by Charles Hand. A partial view may be accepted, but never the full view. When you purchase a pattern, you do not own it. You have only paid for the use of it. All patterns are the sole property of Charles Hand the designer. You can make as many copies as you prefer, cut as many portraits as you please, sell the finished product, but NEVER under any circumstance, are you permitted to sell, share or distribute a pattern. Thank you for supporting your artists and designers. It is very much appreciated.

I have a sample pack of Keda Dy Stain Powder that you add to water. I have tried and it does not work for my projects. the colour creeps in with the end grain. See the frogs. It looks okay but it took a few days before the pieces went back together due to the swelling. The smiley face and candle holder are pine and it comes out red okay. I just tried a piece of poplar. Soaked about 10 minutes and then let dry for another 10. You get some stain creeping. I am not sure this is the colour you are looking for but you can add mix the colours to get darker or lighter. If you are going to go this way I would suggest you test first.

Compound cutting question
don in brooklin on replied to jerry walters's topic in General Scroll Sawing
I do a lot of compound cutting and I use a #5. Flying Dutchman Polar #5 or a Pegas #6 skip tooth is next. Softer wood I try a Ultra reverse as I like the smoother finish. For harder woods I find wrapping in box tape helps too. The real key is to go slower and not push too hard so the saw dust clears. -
You might want to check with your local library to see it they have them in the system. My library is a member of hoopla. On line reading library. I searched to scroll puzzles and there were a few there. It gives you a chance to review the book and to make sure you want to buy. You can not download the patterns or print out directly but there are ways around it if you want to spend the time.

I would called Fox Chapels customer service. When I bought the last CD's they were supposed to ship via USPS but instead shipped via UPS. When I specifically asked if USPS ie postal service. It arrived at the door with a bill almost as much as the CD's . Customer service quickly offered a refund but I took it in a 2 year subscription. Their customer service is top notch.

When I saw Steve post his tint gnomes I knew I had to add to my collection. PS: That is a Canadian quarter in front.

A good friend of mine is a die hard fan. Each October, he starts planning the parade and the party for the next Stanley Cup finals. By January, he is down to when the Liefs make the playoffs. We joke all the time about when the Leafs are going to win another Championship. I made this with a white board for the year. If they ever do, he can whip out the year and the pen is there. I just hope the pen has not dried out by then.

Steve Goods pattern on Monday July 25th was called Word signs. 67 words with a backer. I was talking to my Granddaughter and she was interested for maybe doing some shirts on Circut. She asked what words were available and so I took the PDF and extracted the words and page numbers and also sorted alphabetically. I thought I would post the PDF here if anyone is interested. words with page number.pdf

I use FD-UR #3 all the time. I have not had any issue with breaking and some I think would be a couple of years old. They get mixed in with new ones I have bought. Pete sent me some he got from Garnet Hall that he did not like. I tested on my EX-21 and then have used with my 101 coursed on DW788. Not a problem. Recently the blades were slipping out from the bottom blade holder. I did everything I could think of changed to pegas, removed bottom blade clamp and screw, reset, sanded the blades, degreased - still no change. I have an EX-21 and checked the arm was parallel to the table and it was out just a hair. reset and there has not been an issue since. Back to my favorite blade FD-UR.

As you may have read about Alex fleeing from Ukraine to Latvia with basically nothing. Living in a hostel with his only source of income is his patterns. He is a great asset to the scrolling world and such a humble guy. One way, we as a village can help is for everyone to buy a pattern or two. His site is http://www.etsy.com/shop/AlexFoxUA I already bought one this morning and waiting for my wife to choose a couple more. Lets all help out if we can. They look really good. I am sorry about the veining. I assume it is the bowler that I picked up from Steve; Attached is a pdf where I darkened the lines. Please let me know if you see any other changes. Thanks for posting. bowling ornaments.pdf

Kevin I have lots to do on the honey do list plus lots on projects half done. I have health issue that only lets me do scrolling for 15 minutes or so at a time. I just use it as an excuse for all the other stuff. I love to try and do patterns. I am still learning. My problem is that I am not an artist or have great imagination. I was sitting here watching the ball game and came up with this one. Your comments are appreciated.

Does anyone know whos pattern this is
don in brooklin on replied to edward's topic in General Scroll Sawing
To me they definitely looked like Steve as his go to font is Cooper Black. The funny thing I had that pdf on my computer as I have cut the peace ornament on page 7 a number of times. I cut one for each of the volunteers at the local cancer support. Love it. Steve is the best. Being a Canadian the military ornaments go in one ear and out the other. The actual link is https://www.stevedgood.com/ornaments.pdf -
