  2. I just bought a magnifying light and love it. I bought it from menards for $40 I don't know if there is one near you. but that is your bst bet.
  3. There is a lot of woods harder than aluminum. unseeing the right speed is the key to cutting it don't run too fast .you might try some packing tape on top for lubricant .
  4. I sit I have my saw on a porter cable scrolls aw stand with a 2" riser on the back. it's kind of hard to use a foot peddle while standing.
  5. That is one of the reasons I use Olson's, the other reason is Olson's are easier to find with out ordering them. I did notice that W.T.B changed it's postage rates.
  6. when i was a kid (late 50's) me and my buddy would collect the caterpillars for a bate shop along the river. we supplied them about 500 a week as long as the worms lasted, about 11/2 weeks. we laid several sheets on the ground around the tree trunk and then hit it with a sledge hammer and down came the worms. do it a couple times and you had the 500 caterpillars. we got 1 cent each, we lived about 20 miles from the Ohio river and he came to pick them up.
  7. We have plenty of this wood around my area. a large Caterpillar appears on it in July or august and catfish just love them. my brother in law has used it and it finishes well a very beautiful wood.
  8. Ilov it.
  9. the reason for war-page is there is too much moisture in the wood, the wood should be between 6% & 8% . I bought a moisture meter at harbor freight for $13,When I buy wood i check it before buying if it is over 9% i leave it alone. and I halve no warping problems.
  10. nice work I like the lepord best.
  11. I use a moisture Gage and don't want to work on anything with a higher moisture tha 9% moisture and very seldom have any warpage.
  12. I get long use out of my blades, I very seldom run faster than a 5 on my DW 788. I get some where between 40 minutes and 1 1/25 hours per blade and i cut a lot of hard woods like walnut and cherry. I use nothing but Olson's blades and if I use the crown blades I usually get about 30% ore life.
  13. Good idea now to get the wife to Chang it!
  14. I like the different woods effect good job.
  15. I spray mine with Lacquer

  17. I have been laid off twice The first time I was 52 tears old ( 27 years with the company) and the second time I was 54 years old . unless the economy is bad a machinist can always find a job in my area. but it is still hard on a person to start at the bottom again. I now am a full time Stroller.
