  1. I am unsure what you are asking for but I went ahead and put a black outline on the cut areas, hoping that this is what you need.To do so, I had to convert your pattern to a jpg then change it to black then run it through Inkscape. After doing a trace bitmap, if you go to the lower left corner you can right click fill and/or stroke, then using "paste color" you can change the colors of the outline and/or the cut areas. Hope this helps you.If not let us know and I am sure someone will be able to help. For a first or 20th pattern attempt, your pattern is great!! Don R

  5. Chris, Great job on the elephant! Did you also make the pattern? Don R
  6. Dick, Your pattern is just fine. It had a couple of little floaters, which I took the liberty of fixing, then I ran it through Inkscape to clean it up a little and here is what I came up with. Don R

  15. This was a great pattern to cut and although I did modify it somewhat,a total of only 56 cuts and about 1 1/2 hours cutting time. Mahendra thanks for the pattern and I hope you don't mind the mods. It is cut 10" X 12" from 1/8" Maple plywood using FD Spirals with flat ends size #3. The frame is some poplar scrap that I had with Walnut Danish Oil finish. Don R
  16. About 9 years total but only a couple seriously. Don R
  17. Very nice, Mahendra. Love the butterfly and the Mango wood (I also love Mangos) Don R
  18. Stay with it Mahendra, with your perseverance you will knock it very soon, then you can teach me! Don R
  19. Smitty, I have a thru the wall, heat pump/ air conditioner. It is a Freidrich brand 220 volt and works like a charm and is very economical to run. I whole- heartedly would recommend this to anyone. It was a little pricey but in my opinion well worth it. Don R
  20. Very nice cutting Marg. Thanks for cutting my pattern and sharing, I don't mind the changes at all. Don R
  21. Wow, you were busy! Really nice display. Don R
  22. Yes, I like to be comfortable so I bought those chairs, one for scrolling and one for carving. The shop itself is prefabricated building which was delivered in one piece and I finished the interior. Put in lots of insulation, lots of fluorescent lights and went way overboard on the electrical outlets, I figured that you can't have too many. Also installed a thru the wall heat pump/air conditioner so I am pretty comfortable year round. Now all I have to do is keep it neat and tidy. The dust collector and table saw and compressor are in an adjacent building to cut down on noise. All in all, it works out pretty nice. Don R
  23. Thanks folks for the kind words! It is appreciated. Kevin, I used FD Spirals with flat ends Sizes #1 and #3. My Craftsman is now semi-retired and I used my Delta saw for this one Marg, Yes there were a few breath holding, heart stopping moments but luckily I managed to work through them without breakouts. I think my pacemaker got a workout cutting it. Thanks again everyone! Don R
  24. This is the Cumberland County Courthouse in Crossville, TN. Just completed it today and will frame it tomorrow. This cutting will be a door prize next week at a picnic along with my cuttings of the Byrds Creek Dam. This one was a bit of a struggle with a few mistakes and a few changes on the fly but overall I am reasonably satisfied with the results. Stack cut three of them 1/8 inch BB, 240 or so cuts, stained Golden Oak. This one will have a black backer. Don R
