  6. Thanks folks for all of your nice words. I really liked the photograph and the pattern so I decided to cut it. Don R
  7. I sit while scrolling on a really nice padded, swivel drafting chair with a back rest and arms and I usually will drill 25 to 30 starter holes then cut them, then drill 25 or 30 more and so on. I usually keep at it like that for up to 3 hours or so then take a break. In between times I take a smoke break occasionally. After 3 hours or so I am usually ready for a coffee. Don R
  8. Jesse, Most of what I do is portraits and I use spirals almost exclusively. I love Flying Dutchman spirals from Mikes Workshop. Don R
  9. I cut this one a few days ago from a pattern I made for a fellow scroller/dog lover. It has about 155 holes, stack cut from 1/8 inch BB using FD #1 Spirals with flat ends. Took about 3 hours to cut. Finished with MinWax spray poly, satin. The frame is a Dollar store made in USA special. Don R

  16. I wanted to give my new saw a test run so I cut this today. Cut from 1/8 inch BB, stack of three using FD No1 Spiral blade with flat ends. Finished with Satin Minwax spray poly. The new Delta 40-695 saw worked beautifully The pattern is mine. Don R
  17. In January of 2012, I bought a Delta 40-690 on sale. They were phasing out that model and introducing the model 40-695. I got the 690 at a really good price of around $349. I really liked the machine and got a lot of use and enjoyment out of it until October of 2013 when unfortunately it died. Under warranty, Delta repaired it twice and then replaced it with a 40- 695. Granted, it should have lasted longer than it did but Delta did stand behind their product. I got the new machine today and intend to give it a good workout over the next few days. I will keep you informed. The machine is extraordinarily quiet and has no vibration, we will see how it holds up. Don R
