  1. Mineral spirits and may have to do a little light sanding after it completely dries.
  2. Good article Dan, thanks. Bob
  3. I have a 1/4 sheet palm sander and wondering about a 5" random orbital sander. Is there any advantage to a ROS over a 1/4 sheet palm sander? Would a ROS be any more agressive than a 1/4 sheet palm sander using the same grit sand paper? A 1/4 sheet palm sander has the advantage of being able to use a 1/4 sheey of sand paper or a roll of 4 1/2" of paper cut to 5 1/2" long, where a ROS needs the 5" round disc with hook/loop fasteners. Just wondering if I would gain anything getting a ROS since I already have 2 of the 1/4 sheet palm sanders. Bob

  11. For even less money and very effective is this http://www.harborfreight.com/13-gallon-industrial-portable-dust-collector-31810.html one. I use one dedicated to my scroll saw along with a Thien style separator and find it very effective, a lot quieter than the 2 Hp model, draws half the current and if you remove the grates on the input and output ports works just about as well as the 2 Hp model. In fact I just bought another one today on sale and with the 20% coupon it cost me $103.00. That gives me 2 of the 1 Hp and 1 of the 2 Hp HF DC.
  12. My luck, MLCS called this morning and said the set I ordered has been discontinued. So I ordered the Veritas set of 2" long starting at 1/16", guess they will have to do.
  13. I found a small set @ MLCS 2 3/8" long that will do for now, I really wanted a set 4" long but these will do. I went & looked at the Veritas set but I already ordered the small set from MLCS. Thanks for the info anyway.
  14. Thanks for the reply, I had thought about looking for some brass square tubing used for models to see if I could find anything 1/16" and may end up doing just that.
  15. Not really related to scroll sawing but would anyone know where I could find a set of brass gauge setup blocks that start at 1/16" & up, all the ones I find start at 1/8" and up. If I could find a 1/16" I could add it to the sets I found. Anyone know where I can find such a animal?
  16. I am sure you will love it like I love mine.

  21. I want to cut a new sub-base plate for my Dewalt router out of plastic sheet about 1/4" thick, what would be the best to cut on the scroll saw? Acrylic, Lexan or what. I would prefer something I can find eaisly like at a big box store in small quanities. Any experienced help and advice out there.
  22. I don't know which browser you use but there are some great free ones for Firefox.
  23. Great.
  24. Not around here. I have called all the local lumber yards, big box stores they don't have it and say they can't get it. Some don't even know what it is. I just got off ,the phone with Sloan's and ordered some 1/8" BB Ply. Can't wait to try cutting the pattern of the Dutch Ovens I received here.
